Amigold tablet is used to treat mental disorders like schizophrenia, a condition that affects a person's ability to think, feel and behave correctly. It has positive symptoms like confusion and hallu
cination and negative symptoms like lack of facial expression and decreased speaking. Amigold tablets help with both positive and negative symptoms. The active ingredient of the Amigold tablet is amisulpride. It is an atypical antipsychotic medicine. The mode of action of the Amigold tablet is by blocking receptors and increasing dopamine and serotonin levels in the brain. These chemical substances help stabilise mood and prevent overactivity of the nerve cells in the brain. Nausea, dizziness, vomiting, etc., are some of the side effects of Amigold tablets. It is vital to inform the treating doctor of any prescribed medicines being taken so they can check for any potential interactions and adverse effects. Also, persons suffering from heart diseases, kidney or liver problems, seizures, etc., or other previous conditions should inform their doctor. It is not meant for use in children under 18.

- As per CDSCO, Amigold tablet is used to treat acute and chronic schizophrenic disorders, in which both positive and negative symptoms are prominent. It is also effective on those with predominantly negative symptoms....
Contraindications of Amigold 50 MG
- If you are allergic to the amisulpride component of Amigold tablets.
- If you are already on other antipsychotic medications.
- If you are taking Levodopa to treat Parkinson's disease (psychotic condition).
- If you have a tumour in your adrenal gland (a condition called pheochromocytoma), or if you have been diagnosed with a prolactin-dependent tumour.
- If you have a family history of breast cancer or are diagnosed with breast cancer. Amigold tablets can increase prolactin (hormone) levels in the body.
- If you are planning for a pregnancy or already pregnant.

Directions for Use of Amigold 50 MG
- Try to take Amigold tablets precisely as prescribed by the doctor.

- Do not use it with other medications without notifying your doctor.
- Do not take this medicine if its packaging has been already opened.
- Do not stop using this medication abruptly, as it can cause adverse effects from withdrawal.

Interactions with other medicines
- It is not recommended to take Amigold tablets with Levodopa tablets used for Parkinson's disease, as they have exactly opposite effects.
- Be cautious with the dosage if you use other sedatives, heart medicines, antimalarial medicines, antihistamines, etc. They can interact with Amigold tablets and cause increased drowsiness.
- It is better not to take Amigold tablets if you use medicines like diuretics and laxatives that lower blood potassium levels; Amigold tablets can further lower potassium levels and cause adverse effects....
- It is not recommended to take Amigold tablets if you use medicines that lower heart rate.
- It is not recommended to take Amigold tablets if you are already using other antipsychotic, antidepressant, or anti-seizure medications; using Amigold tablets with these can cause severe adverse effects....
