HEXAXIM SUSPENSION FOR INJECTION

Your child could develop a fever as a side effect of receiving the Hexaxim vaccine. Consult your child's doctor immediately if your child's body temperature is at or exceeds 38° C after receiving this vaccine.

Your child may develop a fever, feel restless and irritable, experience a loss of appetite, and show pain, swelling, and redness at the vaccination site.

To ensure complete protection for your child against all six diseases, they should receive a vaccination course as recommended by your child's doctor. A single injection of the Hexaxim Vaccine cannot provide full protection against these vaccine-preventable diseases.

Hexaxim vaccine can be administered to children with a minor infection, such as a cold. Consult your child's doctor if your child has a cold before giving this vaccine.

Hexaxim is a combination vaccine given to babies and toddlers to protect them from six diseases: diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough (pertussis), hepatitis B, polio, and Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib). It works by helping the body build natural protection (immunity) against these infections.

After getting the Hexaxim vaccine, your baby might have a mild fever, feel sleepy, eat less, or be a little irritable. Some redness, swelling, or pain at the injection site is also common. These side effects are usually short-lived. If your baby develops a high fever (above 38°C) or has unusual reactions like seizures, contact your doctor right away.

Like most vaccines, Hexaxim may cause a little discomfort or pain during vaccination, and the injection site may feel sore afterwards. This is normal and usually settles quickly with proper aftercare.

Hexaxim vaccine is meant for infants and toddlers, starting from 6 weeks of age. It’s administered in a series of doses based on your child’s vaccination schedule, typically completing the series by 18 months. It is not recommended for use in older children or adults.
