Dexona Tablet
Description
Dexona Tablet is a prescription medication belonging to the steroid class, commonly used to treat inflammatory conditions, allergies, autoimmune disorders, and certain types of cancer. It contains dexamethasone as the active ingredient, which works by reducing the production of chemicals in the body that cause inflammation and swelling. This helps to alleviate symptoms such as pain, redness, irritation, and allergic reactions.
Your doctor will determine the appropriate dose and duration of Dexona tablets based on your health condition. It is essential to take this medicine exactly as prescribed and not to miss any doses. Do not increase the dose on your own, and never stop taking it suddenly without medical advice, as this may worsen your condition or lead to withdrawal symptoms. Always complete the full course of treatment as directed.
Dexona tablets should be taken under strict medical supervision. Since it belongs to the steroid group, sudden discontinuation may be harmful. Make sure to follow your doctor’s instructions carefully. If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember, but skip it if it is almost time for your next dose. Do not take two doses together to compensate for a missed one.
Some other medicines containing dexamethasone include Decdan 0.5mg tablet, Dexacron 0.5mg tablet, and Dexacip 0.5mg tablet. These alternatives may be prescribed by doctors depending on individual needs and availability.
Like other steroids, Dexona may increase the risk of infections. Inform your doctor if you develop symptoms such as fever, sore throat, or wounds that do not heal properly. Avoid close contact with people who have contagious infections like the flu or chickenpox. Before starting Dexona, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, breastfeeding, or have medical conditions related to the liver, kidneys, or immune system.
