A: The number of doses depends upon the age of the individual. It can vary from a single dose up to three doses after certain intervals. Your doctor will decide the dosage and the frequency of vaccine administration.

Q: Can the Prevenar 13 vaccine be taken by everyone?

A: It is not clear if the vaccine is safe for use in infants under 6 weeks of age. It is, however, given in adults of all ages. Besides these, infants born prematurely, or children having sickle cell disease, those who have had a hematopoietic stem cell transplant or have HIV infection are some population groups in which its safety has not been established.

Q: How long will the side effects of the vaccine last?

A: It is normal for some side effects to last for up to 3 days, however, beyond that, it is best to inform your doctor of any symptoms you are experiencing and their severity.
