Prevenar 13 Pre Filled Syringe Of 0.5ml Vaccine
Description
Prevnar 13 is a vaccine that provides protection against 13 serotypes of Streptococcus pneumonia 1, 3, 4, 5, 6A, 6B, 7F, 9V, 14, 18C, 19A, 19F and 23F. It is recommended for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years to prevent invasive pneumococcal disease and certain types of ear infections (otitis media). For children aged 6 to 17 years, it helps protect against invasive pneumococcal disease. In adults aged 18 and older, it is used to prevent pneumococcal pneumonia and invasive disease. By strengthening the immune system, Prevnar 13 helps reduce the risk of serious pneumococcal infections across different age groups.
Prevnar 13 does not provide protection against diseases caused by S. pneumoniae serotypes not included in the vaccine.
Common side effects of the vaccine may include pain, redness, and swelling at the injection site; fever; drowsiness; irritability; and loss of appetite. These side effects typically resolve quickly, and sitting or lying down may help alleviate them. If any side effects persist or cause concern, consult your doctor.
Avoid Prevenar 13 vaccine if you are allergic to any of its components, have a severe illness, or have a high fever. It is also not recommended for individuals with a compromised immune system.
Always inform your doctor of any allergies or medical conditions before receiving the vaccine. Certain medications may interact with the Prevenar 13 vaccine; so, it is essential to let your doctor know if you are taking any other medications.
