Omee Capsule

• For the short-term treatment of duodenal ulcer and gastric ulcer.
• For the treatment of reflux oesophagitis - an inflammation of the food pipe caused by stomach acid flowing back into it.
• For the management of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, a condition of excessive stomach acid production caused by a gastrin-producing tumour.

• If you are allergic to omeprazole or any other ingredients of Omee capsule.
• If you have an allergic reaction to any medicines that are proton pump inhibitors (PPI), such as Esomeprazole, Pantoprazole, Rabeprazole and Lansoprazole.
• If you are taking nelfinavir, used to treat HIV infection.

• Headache
• Nausea or vomiting
• Stomach pain
• Diarrhoea or constipation
• Wind and bloating

• Dizziness or drowsiness
• Difficulty sleeping
• Dry mouth or a change in taste
• Rash or itching
• Pins and needles
• Feeling unusually tired
• With long-term use
• Low vitamin B12 or magnesium levels, particularly with prolonged treatment
• An increased risk of bone fracture, particularly of the hip, wrist and spine
• An increased risk of certain gut and chest infections

• Severe, persistent or watery diarrhoea, especially with fever or stomach cramps, which may indicate a gut infection
• Muscle cramps or spasms, an irregular heartbeat, or seizures, which can be signs of a low magnesium level
• A severe allergic reaction: swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat, difficulty breathing, a widespread rash, or collapse
• A severe skin reaction with blistering or peeling, or sores in the mouth, particularly if it comes with fever or joint pain
• Yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, or persistent nausea with pain under the right ribs
• A marked reduction in the amount of urine passed, blood in the urine, or swelling of the legs

Other General Warnings

• You have any liver problems.
• You are experiencing frequent diarrhoea.
• You have abnormal weight loss.
• You have a family history of stomach cancer.
• You vomit food or blood, or you are passing black stools.
• You have a skin reaction after taking a similar medicine.
• You have stomach pain, indigestion, and difficult swallowing.
• You are expected to take Omee capsules for a longer period, as long-term treatment may require periodic review.
• You take clopidogrel, warfarin, methotrexate, an HIV medicine, an antifungal, or a medicine after a transplant.
• You have been taking it for more than about four weeks, or your symptoms return every time you stop.
• You develop persistent muscle cramps, an irregular heartbeat or unusual tiredness while taking it long term, as these symptoms may need medical assessment.
• You may need a test for the stomach bacterium Helicobacter pylori or an endoscopy, as this medicine can affect the results and may need to be stopped beforehand.
• Seek emergency help for chest pain with breathlessness, sweating, or pain spreading to the arm or jaw. Do not assume it is indigestion.

• Take Omee capsule as directed by your doctor.
• Swallow it whole with a glass of water. Do not cut, break or chew the medicine.
• Take it on an empty stomach, preferably in the morning.
• For best results, take it at a fixed time.
• Do not take more than the dose your doctor prescribed.
• Complete the course even if you feel better quickly. Symptoms settle before an ulcer or an inflamed food pipe has healed.
• If you are still taking it after about four weeks, or your symptoms return each time you stop, ask your doctor to review it rather than continuing on your own.
• Do not stop a long course abruptly without advice, as acid symptoms can rebound temporarily.
• Tell your doctor if you take any medicine for HIV, a blood thinner, an antifungal, methotrexate, or a medicine after a transplant, as the combination may require monitoring, a dose adjustment or an alternative treatment.

• Store Omee capsules in a cool and dry place.
• Keep it away from children and pets.
• Keep the capsules in the original strip until you take them, to protect them from moisture. Do not use them after the expiry date.

• Take Omee as directed by your doctor, usually before a meal.
• You can make lifestyle changes like avoiding foods that increase acidity (e.g., carbonated drinks and oily/fried foods), exercising regularly, and maintaining a healthy weight.
• Limit alcohol if it worsens your symptoms, and consider quitting smoking to help manage reflux.
• Reduce stress and get good sleep each night.
• Inform your doctor if you have been taking this medicine continuously for more than four weeks to treat acidity, or if symptoms persist even after taking it.
• This medicine can interfere with other medicines taken at the same time. Inform your doctor if you are using any other medicines.
• Consult your doctor if nausea, fullness or bloating persists despite treatment.
• Eating smaller meals and avoiding lying down for about three hours after eating may help manage reflux. Limit caffeine, spicy foods and fatty foods if they trigger your symptoms.
