Tetanus Ampoule Of 0.5ml Vaccine
Description
Tetanus injection contains tetanus toxoid, a bacterial vaccine that protects against tetanus infection. It works by triggering a mild reaction in the body, prompting our immune system to produce protective antibodies against the bacteria that cause tetanus. Typically, a booster dose of the tetanus vaccine is needed every ten years to ensure continued protection. It can also be administered after recent wounds or injuries that elevate the risk of tetanus infection.
Tetanus injection cannot treat an existing tetanus infection; it is only effective as a preventive measure before exposure to the bacteria. Individuals with acute infections or those who have previously experienced allergies to vaccinations or blood products should avoid receiving Tetanus injection. Pregnant and breastfeeding women may receive Tetanus injection if prescribed by their doctor.
Some mild side effects, such as discomfort and redness at the injection site, or a low fever, may occur. These side effects are typically short-lived and resolve within a few days. However, if symptoms worsen, it is advisable to visit a doctor.
