Description
Pneumosil vaccine is a pneumococcal vaccine designed to actively immunise individuals against pneumococcal disease caused by 10 specific serotypes of Streptococcus pneumoniae: 1, 5, 6A, 6B, 7F, 9V, 14, 19A, 19F, and 23F. The vaccine offers protection against pneumonia, meningitis, ear infections, and blood infections caused by the above-mentioned strains of S. Pneumoniae.
Pneumosil vaccine is administered to infants starting from 6 weeks of age, following either a 6-week, 10-week, and 14-week dosing schedule or a 6-week, 14-week, and 9-month dosing schedule.
Common side effects of the vaccine may include pain, redness, and swelling at the injection site, fever, drowsiness, irritability, and loss of appetite. If any side effects persist or cause concern, consult your doctor.
