Duphaston 10 MG Description

Duphaston is a medication often used in women's health, primarily prescribed to address various gynaecological issues. To avoid self-medication, it is crucial to adhere to the prescribed dose and frequency, following your doctor's guidance. Duphaston tablet is used to treat disorders related to the female reproductive cycle, infertility, irregular menses, and uterine bleeding. It contains dydrogesterone, a synthetic form of the female hormone progesterone.

Duphaston is the original research brand of Dydrogesterone, first approved in April 1960. Dydrogesterone granules present in Duphaston are manufactured in Weesp, Netherlands. Further, it is tableted in two state-of-the-art manufacturing sites in India.

Duphaston tablet works by imitating the actions of the natural hormone progesterone. Hence, it improves conditions that occur due to an imbalance of hormonal levels. You must notify your doctor if you have any of the following symptoms or problems while taking Duphaston: jaundice, decreased liver function, a significant increase in blood pressure, or a Migraine-type headache.

Before starting treatment with Duphaston, identify the cause of abnormal uterine bleeding. The medicine may cause breakthrough bleeding and spotting during the initial days of treatment. If this continues, inform the doctor.

Before starting the treatment, you must inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding. You should also inform them about all the medicines and supplements you take and all the conditions or diseases you suffer from.

While Duphaston does not typically interfere with birth control pills, individuals are advised to discuss their contraceptive methods with their healthcare provider. Additionally, Duphaston may be prescribed for specific durations during the menstrual cycle, and its usage for managing symptoms of conditions like polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) or endometriosis should be determined by a healthcare professional.

Dydroboon tablet, Dydrofem tablet, Dydrogest tablet, Dydrosure tablet, and Drolute tablet are other medicines containing dydrogesterone as an active ingredient.

Duphaston generally doesn't make you sleepy or affect your thyroid. However, if you have any concerns about side effects, fertility, or drinking alcohol while taking it, talk to your doctor. Always follow your doctor's advice for the best results.
