Pantocid 40 MG Description

Pantocid 40 tablet is an acid-reducing medicine. It is used for the treatment of peptic ulcers, gastric ulcers, heartburn, gastritis, acid reflux disease and acidity problems. It contains pantoprazole as its active ingredient.

An ulcer is a sore in the lining of your stomach or intestine that is caused due to digestive acid present in your stomach. It is characterized by burning pain. Pantoprazole reduces the amount of acid produced in the stomach. Thus, it prevents ulcers and reduces the backflow of acid that causes heartburn and acidity problems. Pantoprazole works by blocking the pumps in the stomach wall for the production of acid.

A few other medicines with pantoprazole as their main ingredient are Pantodac 40mg tablet, Pantosec 40mg tablet, Pantakind 40mg tablet, Pantop 40mg tablet and Pan 40mg tablet. Pantocid 40 tablets should be taken as prescribed by the doctor. It should usually be taken first thing in the morning or at least an hour before a meal. Do not miss any dose or take it more often than prescribed by your doctor.

Along with taking medicine on time, making certain lifestyle modifications can help to manage your acidity problem better. Try eating smaller meals, eating slowly, avoiding overeating and lying down immediately after having a meal. Limit your intake of alcohol, avoid smoking and maintain a healthy weight. Consult the doctor to understand what works for you best.
