• Known sensitivity or allergy to cilnidipine or any ingredient in the medicine
• Known allergy to any other calcium channel blocker (may react to similar medicines)
• Aortic stenosis (narrowing of the aortic valve, which can reduce blood flow from the heart)

• Headache
• Dizziness
• Flushing (sudden warmth and redness of the face or skin)
• Palpitations
• Oedema (swelling due to fluid buildup)
• Fatigue
• Nausea
• Rash
• Gingival hyperplasia (swollen or enlarged gums)

Other General Warnings

• You have any heart-related problems such as low blood pressure, heart failure, etc.
• Use this medicine carefully if you have angina (chest pain caused by reduced blood flow to the heart). Inform your doctor if your symptoms worsen while taking this medication.
• Patients with kidney problems should use this medicine under medical supervision.
• Use with caution in patients with heart failure (where the heart cannot pump blood properly), as careful monitoring may be required.
• This medicine may occasionally lower blood pressure excessively in some patients. Contact your doctor if you experience symptoms such as dizziness, fainting, or weakness.
• Use with caution in patients with liver problems. Your doctor may monitor your liver function while you are on this medication.
• Swelling of the feet, ankles, or legs may occur while taking this medication. Inform your doctor if the swelling gets worse.
• Do not stop medication suddenly. Stopping suddenly may make angina pain worse.
• If you feel chest pain after starting this medication, stop taking it and contact your doctor immediately.
• Elderly patients may be more sensitive to the blood-pressure-lowering effects of this medicine and should be monitored for dizziness and falls.

• Take the medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
• Swallow the tablet whole with water.
• Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet.
• You may take it with or without food.
• Try to take the medicine at the same time each day.

• Store below 30°C in a cool and dry place.
• Protect from direct sunlight.
• Keep out of reach of children.
• Do not use after the expiry date.
• Throw away any unused medicine in accordance with local rules or your doctor’s instructions.

• Take the medicine regularly, even if you feel well.
• Monitor your blood pressure as advised by your doctor.
• Inform your doctor if you have kidney disease, liver disease, heart failure, or angina.
• Before you start this medication, tell your doctor about all the medicines you are taking.
• Never stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor first.
• Contact your doctor if you experience excessive dizziness, fainting, or swelling of the feet and ankles.

Overdose

• Your doctor will determine the appropriate dose based on your blood pressure, medical condition, and response to this medication.
• Taking too much of this medicine can cause very low blood pressure, dizziness, fainting, or other heart-related problems. In case of an overdose, seek immediate medical help or contact a doctor immediately.

Missed a Dose

• The active ingredient in this medicine works by:
• blocking L-type calcium channels in blood vessels, helping them relax and widen so that blood can flow more easily.
• blocking N-type calcium channels, which helps reduce sympathetic nerve activity (the nerves involved in the body’s fight-or-flight response, which can increase blood pressure).
• reducing peripheral vascular resistance, thereby lowering blood pressure and decreasing cardiac workload.
