PRIMOLUT-N TABLET
Description
Primolut-N tablet is one of the most commonly used medicines in India. Primolut-N tablet contains Norethisterone, a synthetic version of the natural female hormone, progesterone.
The Primolut-N tablet uses include managing heavy, painful, or irregular periods, treating endometriosis, premenstrual syndrome (PMS), and providing a reliable solution for women looking to delay their periods for personal or religious reasons.
One should take it as directed by a physician. It is advised to take the Primolut-N tablet at the same time each day to maintain steady hormone levels in your body.
The tablet should be swallowed whole with water; do not crush it. The Primolut-N tablet dose is adjusted depending on the treatment. Always follow your doctor's instructions closely and do not stop or change your dose without checking with them first, even if you feel better.
While taking Primolut-N, you may experience mild side effects, such as headaches, nausea, or spotting, which usually resolve on their own. However, if you experience jaundice, migraines, sudden vision changes, or a sharp rise in blood pressure, stop taking it and contact your doctor immediately.
Before starting Primolut-N medication, it is crucial to discuss your full medical history, including pregnancy, liver conditions, or diabetes, with your doctor. Inform them of all medications you take, as Primolut-N can affect the results of certain laboratory tests. Norethisterone is marketed under various brand names, but it is always best to use the brand prescribed by your doctor.

How Does It Work?
- The active ingredient in Primolut N is Norethisterone, a man-made version of the female hormone progesterone. In a natural menstrual cycle, a drop in progesterone levels signals the breakdown and shedding of the womb lining, resulting in menstruation. Primolut N works by artificially maintaining high levels of this progesterone-like hormone in your body....
- This effectively tricks your system into maintaining the uterine lining instead of shedding it. By preventing the breakdown of this lining, the medication can successfully postpone the start of a period for a desired length of time. This same mechanism also provides stability to the uterine lining, which is why it is an effective treatment for managing conditions such as heavy, painful, or irregular menstrual bleeding. Mimicking the body's own hormonal signals helps to regulate the entire menstrual process, offering control and relief from various gynaecological issues....
