Description

Pentaloc 40 Tablet is a medication used to reduce excess acid production in the stomach. It is commonly prescribed for conditions such as stomach ulcers and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), also known as acid reflux. In GERD, stomach acid flows back into the food pipe, causing heartburn, chest discomfort, and irritation. By lowering acid levels, this medicine helps relieve symptoms and promotes healing of the stomach and food pipe.

The active ingredient in Pentaloc 40 Tablet is pantoprazole, which belongs to the group of medicines called proton pump inhibitors (PPIs). It works by blocking the proton pumps in the stomach lining responsible for releasing acid. This reduction in acid helps not only in relieving symptoms but also in preventing long-term complications of acidity, such as ulcers and damage to the oesophagus.

You should take Pentaloc 40 Tablet exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually on an empty stomach for optimal effect. It is important not to skip doses or stop taking the medication suddenly, even if you feel better, unless advised by your doctor. Consistent use of the medication helps achieve maximum benefit and long-lasting relief from acidity and related issues.

Along with taking Pentaloc 40 Tablet, making lifestyle changes can significantly improve your condition. Try eating smaller, well-balanced meals and avoid overeating. Eat slowly and avoid lying down immediately after meals. Limiting spicy, oily, and fried foods can help reduce acidity. It is also advisable to avoid heavy late-night dinners.

For better results with Pentaloc 40 Tablet, maintain a healthy lifestyle. Reduce alcohol intake, quit smoking if possible, and aim to keep a healthy weight through a balanced diet and regular exercise. Managing stress also plays a vital role in controlling acidity and reflux symptoms. Always consult your doctor for personalised advice on diet, lifestyle, and duration of treatment.
