Dxt 20 MG Description

DXT 20mg Tablet is a prescription medication. It contains Duloxetine as its active ingredient. It is used to manage depression in adults, stress urinary incontinence in women, neuropathic pain, fibro

myalgia, chronic musculoskeletal pain and generalised anxiety disorder. Anxiety and depression are mental health disorders. These disorders can lead to feeling excessively sad, angry and unmotivated. Pain is an unpleasant feeling caused by the formation of certain chemicals in the body in response to an injury, tissue damage or disease. Stress urinary incontinence is urine leakage during moments of physical activity that increase abdominal pressure, such as coughing, sneezing, laughing, or exercise. These disorders may lead to a decrease in quality of life. Duloxetine helps manage these disorders by enhancing the effects of certain chemicals in the brain called norepinephrine and serotonin. This, in turn, will reduce the symptoms of these conditions. It is important to only take this medication on prescription by a doctor, at the exact dose and for the entire duration prescribed.

Uses of Dxt 20 MG

As per CDSCO, DXT 20 mg is primarily used to manage the following conditions:
Major depressive disorders in adults
Moderate to severe stress urinary incontinence in women
Management of neuropathic pain associated with diabetic peripheral neuropathy

Contraindications of Dxt 20 MG

DXT 20 mg is contraindicated in the following cases:
In patients below the age of 18
In patients who suffer from unstable epilepsy
In patients with a very low sodium level
In patients with kidney, liver or heart problems
In patients with glaucoma
In patients with bleeding disorders
In patients with a known hypersensitivity to Duloxetine

Pregnancy

Can I take a DXT 20mg tablet during pregnancy?

There are not much clinical data available regarding the safety of this medication during pregnancy. This medication can only be taken during pregnancy if your physician thinks it is essential. If you are pregnant or intend to conceive while on this medication, consult your physician for more information.

Breast Feeding

Can I take DXT 20mg Tablet while breastfeeding?

Breastfeeding while on this medication is not advisable unless necessary. This medication is secreted in breastmilk, which may cause sedation in the baby. Please consult your doctor for more information before breastfeeding.

Driving

Can I drive if I have taken a DXT 20mg tablet?

Driving is not contraindicated while taking this medication. However, as this medication is known to cause dizziness, drowsiness, it is recommended that patients not drive/operate heavy machinery if experiencing any of the mentioned side effects.

Alcohol

Can I consume alcohol with the DXT 20mg tablet?

Alcohol consumption while on this medication is contraindicated.

Take this medication at fixed times every day.
Take this medication with or without food.
Swallow the tablet whole; do not split, crush, or chew.
