Medical Description

Cnz Tablet is a prescription medication primarily used to treat mood disorders like anxiety disorders, depression and panic disorder. It is used in the treatment of epilepsy. Epilepsy is a condition caused by abnormal over excitation of the brain cells. Cnz Tablet reduces abnormal and excessive nerve cell activity, which helps relax the brain and thus helps in stabilising the seizure. Cnz Tablet contains clonazepam as an active ingredient. Clonazepam is a tranquilliser that reduces the excessive neurological activity in the brain by increasing certain chemical messengers and inducing feelings of calmness. This medicine should not be taken without consulting a doctor as there are many side effects associated with this medicine. Cnz Tablet should be taken in dosage and duration as advised by your doctor. Do not suddenly stop consuming this medicine without consulting your doctor, as it may cause clinical worsening of your condition or might lead to withdrawal-like symptoms.

Contraindications

  • If you’re allergic to any component of the Cnz Tablet, i.e. clonazepam.
  • If you are already taking antidepressants, anti-anxiety or sedative medications.
  • If you are taking narcotic or opioid pain relievers.
  • If you have myasthenia gravis, a condition that causes muscle weakness.
  • If you have acute angle glaucoma, a condition characterised by increased fluid pressure in the eyes.
  • If you have respiratory depression(slow and steady decline in breathing).
  • If you are experiencing sudden mood changes or suicidal ideation.
  • If you have liver failure.
  • If you have kidney problems.
  • If you’ve a history of alcohol or medicine addiction.
  • If you have respiratory issues like sleep apnea or asthma etc.

Directions for Use

  • Take the Cnz Tablet as prescribed by the doctor.
  • You can take this medicine with or without food or as prescribed.
  • Take this medicine on a regular schedule, preferably at the same time every day.
  • Swallow the whole tablet with a glass of water. Do not break/crush the tablet or chew this medicine.
  • Do not take this tablet with other medications without consulting your doctor.
  • Don’t stop taking this medication suddenly, as it may lead to withdrawal side effects.
  • Don’t exceed the dosage, even if you can’t feel its effects.

Storage and disposal

Store Cnz Tablet at room temperature in a cool and dry area, away from sunlight. Keep the medication away from the reach of children and pet animals in a closed or locked cabin. Do not remove the medicine from its original packing. Do not flush Cnz Tablet down into the toilet. Do not throw away the medicines via household waste. Dispose of the expired medicine immediately. Cnz Tablet overdose can cause symptoms like dizziness, confusion, lightheadedness, sudden muscle movements, tremors, drowsiness, convulsions, loss of consciousness etc. If you have these overdose symptoms, contact your doctor and seek emergency medical treatment from the nearby hospital.

Missed a Dose

If you’ve missed a dose of the Cnz Tablet, take it as you remember. If it's already time to take the next scheduled dose, then take the next scheduled dose. Do not double doses as it can cause overdose side effects. Talk to your doctor if you have any confusion regarding this issue.

How Does It Work?

Cnz Tablet is composed of clonazepam which belongs to the benzodiazepine class of medicine. Clonazepam binds to GABA receptors in the brain, which increases the activity of Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), a natural chemical messenger in the brain. Increased effects of Gamma-aminobutyric acid causes suppression of the excessive and abnormal electrical activity of the nerve cells in the brain and produces a feeling of relaxation, calmness and induces sleep.
