Uses
- Topirain Tablet is used to manage epilepsy/fits.
- It is also used for the prevention of migraine headaches in adults.
Contraindications
- If you are allergic to topiramate or any of the other ingredients of Topirain Tablet.
- For migraine prevention: if you are pregnant or capable of having children and not using effective methods of birth control.

- You have liver or kidney problems such as kidney stones.

- You are taking any other medicine containing topiramate.
- You have suicidal thoughts or harming yourself after taking this medicine.
- You lose weight after taking this medicine.
Directions for Use
- Topirain Tablet should be taken exactly as directed by your doctor.
- Swallow it as a whole with a glass of water.
- Do not cut, break or chew the medicine.
- It would be best if you took it at a fixed time for optimal results.
- Do not consume more than the dose prescribed by your doctor.
Storage and disposal
- Store Topirain Tablet at a temperature not above 25°C in a cool and dry place.
- Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.

Overdose
- Symptoms of overdose of Topirain Tablet include sleepiness, blurring of vision, dizziness, low mood, etc.
- If you have taken too much of this medicine then contact your doctor or reach out to the nearest hospital immediately.
Missed a Dose
- If you have missed taking any dose of Topirain Tablet, then take it as soon as you remember.
- If it's already time for the next dose then skip the missed dose and follow the regular dosing schedule.
- Do not take a double dose to compensate for the missed one.

Interactions with other medicines
- Some medicines can affect the way Topirain Tablet works or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
- Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction.
- Concomitant use of Topirain Tablet with medicines used in brain diseases such as phenytoin or carbamazepine, herbal preparations of St John's wort may decrease the blood concentration of this medicine.
- Taking this medicine with valproic acid can cause a decrease in body temperature.
