Talendol 5mg Tab belongs to a group of medications called ‘antipsychotics’. Talendol 5mg Tab is used to treat Schizophrenia or psychosis and Tourette Syndrome. Schizophrenia is characterised by hallu
cinations, the symptom in which a person sees or hears things that are not real and delusions. Talendol 5mg Tab prevents the occurrence of these symptoms. Tourettes syndrome is a disorder that involves repetitive movements or unwanted sounds called tics that cannot be easily controlled. Talendol 5mg Tab contains ‘Haloperidol’, a typical antipsychotic medicine. Talendol 5mg Tab works by blocking the action of dopamine, a chemical messenger in the brain that affects thoughts and mood. The dose and duration of Talendol 5mg Tab can vary depending upon your condition and the severity of the infection. Some people may experience side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, mood changes, headache, numbness, tingling. These side effects associated with Talendol 5mg Tab do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. Do not stop taking Talendol 5mg Tab despite symptomatic relief. How Does It Work?
Directions for Use of Talendol 5 MG
- Take Talendol 5mg Tab orally or according to the directions of your physician. The dosage of your Talendol 5mg Tab treatment will be determined by your medical history, age, and gender.
- Take Talendol 5mg Tabis without or with food.
- Swallow Talendol 5mg Tabis orally without chewing or crushing the tablet.
- Do not double the dose of Talendol 5mg Tab; make sure to take it as suggested by your doctor.
- Do not take Talendol 5mg Tab on a continuous daily use until recommended by your doctor.
- Do not take Talendol 5mg Tab more frequently than the recommended dose.
Interactions of Talendol 5 MG
Interactions with other medicines
- Monoamine oxidase inhibitors such as isocarboxazid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine - as it may cause serious interactions
- Antipsychotics such as chlorpromazine, thioridazine, trifluoperazine, bupropion as they may alter the blood levels of antipsychotic medications
- Medication that is used to treat stomach ulcers, such as cimetidine as it may reduce the effect of the medicine
- Medicine that has thyroid hormone as they may reduce the effects of the medicine
- Anti-diabetic medications such as tolazamide because sugar levels may be affected
- Opioid pain and cough relievers such as codeine as they may make you very sleepy
- Medicines for sleep and anxiety such as alprazolam, lorazepam
