Medical Description

Meftal Forte tablet is used to treat pain related to muscles, joints, headaches, migraine, back pain, body pain, sprain, strain, injury, post-operative pain, and dental pain. It contains a combination of mefenamic acid and paracetamol as its active ingredients and works by reducing the formation of certain chemicals that cause pain.

Pacimol MF, Naaptol tablet and Meftagesic tablet also contain paracetamol and mefenamic acid as their active ingredients.

Meftal Forte tablet must be taken as directed by the doctor, in doses, and for a duration as prescribed. It should preferably be taken with or after having your meals. Take it regularly at a fixed time. Do not skip a dose or consume more than that recommended by the doctor.

Before starting this medication, please inform your doctor if you have a history of stomach ulcers, bleeding, high blood pressure, or any heart, kidney, or liver problems. Also, let your doctor know about all the other medications you are taking, as they may interact with this one.

The most common side effects of this medicine are nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, indigestion, loss of appetite, and heartburn. If you experience any of these side effects or if they worsen, please consult your doctor. Your doctor may offer advice on preventing or managing these side effects.

  • Certain medicines can affect how Meftal Forte Tablet works, or this tablet itself can affect the action of certain medicines when taken together.
  • Especially when taken along with medicines like Metoclopramide, Domperidone, Warfarin, Aspirin, Clopidogrel, steroids and painkillers when taken along can induce stomach or intestinal bleeding.
  • If taken along with Meftal Forte, antidiabetic medicine can lead to low blood glucose.
  • Cholesterol-lowering medicines like Colestyramine should be taken with a minimum gap of 2 hours.
  • Medicines used to treat a bacterial infection include chloramphenicol.
  • Meftal forte tablets should not be taken for 8 to 12 days after taking Mifepristone.
  • Digoxin used to treat heart failure should not be taken along with Meftal Forte tablets.
