Telma 40 MG Description

Telma 40 tablet is a blood pressure-lowering medicine used to treat high blood pressure. Its active ingredient is telmisartan, which helps reduce the chances of heart disease, stroke, or death in high-risk patients.

Telmikind 40, Tazloc 40, Telvas 40, Telista 40, and Eritel 40 are some other medicines that contain telmisartan as their main ingredient. Telma 40 works by blocking the action of certain natural substances responsible for narrowing blood vessels. This helps reduce pressure inside blood vessels and allows the heart to pump efficiently. Your doctor will decide the dose, frequency, and duration of the treatment; take this medicine regularly.

Uses of Telma 40 MG

Telma 40 tablet is used for the treatment of high blood pressure, also known as hypertension.

Contraindications of Telma 40 MG

If you are allergic to telmisartan or any of the ingredients in the Telma 40 tablet,
If you are pregnant or may be pregnant, treatment should be discontinued if pregnancy is detected.
If you have an obstruction or blockage in your bile duct (which carries bile from the liver to the gallbladder).
If you have severe liver disease, liver failure, or kidney function problems.
If you have diabetes or kidney impairment and you are treated with Aliskiren (to treat high blood pressure).

Talk to your doctor if

You have kidney disease or have had a kidney transplant or liver disease.
You are known to have narrowing or blockage of the blood vessels of one or both kidneys.
You are having diarrhoea vomiting as this can cause dehydration and lead to low blood pressure. Consume plenty of water and fluids.
You suffer from water and salt retention and an imbalance of various blood minerals (raised aldosterone levels).
You have an increased level of potassium in your blood.
You have diabetes, have a low blood pressure problem (hypotension) or have any heart disorder.
You are taking blood pressure-lowering medicines such as ramipril or lisinopril.

Telma 40 should be taken as directed by the treating doctor. You should take it at the same time every day for better blood pressure control.
