Medical Description
Telma-AM is a medicine commonly used to help control high blood pressure. It contains two ingredients, telmisartan and amlodipine, which work together to relax and widen the blood vessels. This helps lower blood pressure and allows blood to flow more easily, reducing the strain on your heart and lowering the risk of heart attacks, strokes, and kidney problems.
You can take Telma-AM with or without food, but be sure to take it at the same time every day to maintain steady blood pressure. It’s very important to take the exact dose your doctor has prescribed and not to skip doses. Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly, even if you feel fine, as your blood pressure could rise again and put you at risk.
Before starting Telma-AM, inform your doctor if you have any health issues, such as kidney or liver problems, or if you’ve been experiencing dehydration. Also, tell them if you’re pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, as the medicine may not be suitable in these situations. Keeping your doctor informed helps avoid complications and ensures safe treatment.
Some people may experience side effects, such as headaches, dizziness, fatigue, an upset stomach, or swelling in the legs or feet. These side effects are usually mild, but if they bother you or persist, please let your doctor know. Until you know how the medicine affects you, be cautious with activities that require focus and alertness, such as driving.
There are other medicines, such as Telmikind AM tablet, Tazloc AM tablet, Telvas AM tablet, Stamlo T tablet and Telista AM tablet, that also contain the same combination of telmisartan and amlodipine. Even though the ingredients are similar, don’t switch between them unless your doctor advises it. Stick with the treatment plan your doctor has given you, and attend regular check-ups to keep your blood pressure under control.
