Medical Description
Lipikind-F tablet is a prescription medicine that contains a combination of Atorvastatin and Fenofibrate as its active ingredients. It is mainly prescribed for patients with high cholesterol and high triglyceride levels in the blood, which may increase the risk of heart-related diseases such as heart attack and stroke. Atorvastatin belongs to a class of medicines called statins, which lower “bad cholesterol” (LDL) and increase “good cholesterol” (HDL). Fenofibrate belongs to a group of medicines known as fibrates, which act by breaking down triglyceride fat in the blood. Together, these medicines help reduce harmful fat deposits in blood vessels and prevent complications like atherosclerosis and cardiovascular disease.
Stator F Tablets, Fibator EZ Tablets, Atchol F Tablets, Xtor F Tablets and Tonact TG 10 tablets are some other medicines with Atorvastatin and Fenofibrate as active ingredients.
Lipikind-F tablet should be used with lifestyle modifications such as a cholesterol-lowering diet and increased physical activity like walking, running, jogging, yoga or swimming. It's essential to follow your doctor's instructions for dosage and duration of treatment. For best results, take the tablet at bedtime. Avoid consuming less fried, oily, junk and packaged food, and avoid smoking and alcohol as well. The tablet should be swallowed whole with a sufficient amount of water and should not be crushed or broken. Do not stop taking the medicine abruptly without consulting your doctor, even if you start feeling better.
Common side effects include nausea, constipation, indigestion, headache, joint pain, muscle pain, stomach discomfort, back pain, and sleeplessness. It should be avoided if you have severe liver disease, kidney disease, gallbladder problems, or a known allergy to Atorvastatin or Fenofibrate. Pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and people with a recent history of stroke should not take this medicine. Use caution if you have diabetes, an underactive thyroid, or a history of alcohol abuse, as these conditions may increase the risk of complications.
