Taxim O 200mg Tab is an antibiotic belonging to the antibiotic group of cephalosporins which is used to treat bacterial infections.

Uses of Taxim O 200mg Tab

Taxim O 200mg Tab use is mainly for treating a wide range of bacterial infections that affect the nose, throat (tonsillitis), sinuses (sinusitis), chest along with lungs (bronchitis and pneumonia) and also urinary system (infections of the bladder and kidney).

Contraindications include allergy related to Taxim O 200mg Tab or to any of its ingredients or allergy related to any other cephalosporin antibiotics such as penicillin.

Side effects of Taxim O 200mg Tab

  • Taxim O 200mg Tab side effects include: Headache or pain in the stomach, nausea, vomiting, rash on skin or related itching, discharge from the vagina Common serious side effects include: Fever, sore throat, bleeding gums; allergic reactions requiring immediate attention and presented as joint pain, swallowing or breathing problems, rash, swelling of lips; convulsions; yellow discolouration of skin or eyes (jaundice), along with symptoms suggesting liver damage such as fatigue and loss of appetite; diarrhoea or bloody stools that worsen gradually; kidney damage by a lack of urination and swelling of legs; ‘Stevens-Johnson’ syndrome (blistering or bleeding of the skin near the lips, eyes, mouth, nose and genitals); skin rash characterised by a pink/red ring and a pale centre, generally present on palms and soles of feet, which may be filled with fluid, itchy or scaly known as ‘erythema multiforme’ indicating serious allergy sign to the medicine; sometimes ‘Pseudomembranous colitis’ (fever accompanying severe watery continuous diarrhoea).
