Rifa I6 Kid Forte Tablets Description

Rifa I 6 Kid Forte tablet contains a combination of three medicines: Rifampicin, Isoniazid, and Pyridoxine. It is used to treat tuberculosis. Tuberculosis is a bacterial infection of the lungs. It is

characterised by a chronic cough for more than two weeks, sweating at night, mild fever, and weight loss. The combination of Rifampicin and Isoniazid helps kill and stop the growth of the bacteria. Pyridoxine prevents peripheral neuropathy (tingling sensation on feet and hands). Peripheral neuropathy is a side effect of Isoniazid. Rifa I 6 Kid Forte tablets should be taken for a duration as prescribed by the doctor. Ideally, it should be taken on an empty stomach and at a particular time of the day. The medicine should not be discontinued without consulting the doctor, even if you feel better. Side effects of Rifa I 6 Kid Forte tablet include nausea, vomiting, jaundice, dark-coloured urine, yellowing of the skin, and an increase in liver enzymes. Although most of these side effects are very mild and do not affect day-to-day activities, the increase in severity of these effects should be informed to your doctor. It is advisable to inform your doctor about any pre-existing health conditions that you may have. People having liver disease or kidney disease should be careful while taking this medicine. Kidney function tests and liver function tests should be done to monitor both organs' functions continuously. Since Rifa I 6 Kid Forte tablet is a combination of two antibiotics, discontinuation of the medicine can lead to antibiotic resistance. It can re-occurrence of the infection and can also aggravate the condition.
