• Do not take Chloramit H tablets or use caution:
• If you are allergic to any medicine component, i.e., Amitriptyline or Chlordiazepoxide.
• If you take medicines like monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), antipsychotic medications, and other antianxiety or sedative medication.
• If you have glaucoma (increases the fluid pressure in the eyes).
• If you recently had a heart condition like a heart attack (myocardial infarction).
• If you have respiratory issues like asthma or sleep apnea.
• If you have a history of seizures or epilepsy.
• If you have liver or kidney disease.
• If you are pregnant or nursing.

• Side effects of Chloramit H tablets include:

• Blurred vision

Other General Warnings

• You have an allergic reaction to Chloramit H tablets.

• You are pregnant or planning to conceive.
• You are over 65 years; the dose of this medicine should be carefully monitored to prevent serious side effects.
• You are using Ayurvedic/herbal medicines, vitamins, and other health supplements.

• Take Chloramit H tablets exactly as prescribed by the doctor.
• Take it with or without food or as prescribed by the doctor.
• Take Chloramit H tablets on a regular schedule, preferably at the same time every day.
• Take Chloramit H tablets as a whole orally with a full glass of water. Do not crush the tablet or chew the tablet.
• Do not take Chloramit H tablets with other medications without consulting your doctor.

Interactions with other medicines

• Tell your doctor about all prescription and non-prescription medications you take or plan to take as there is a chance of medicine interaction. Many medicines can interact with Chloramit H tablets, making them less effective or increasing their side effects. For example:
• Chloramit H tablet interaction with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) (like selegiline, rasagiline, isocarboxazid, and other antidepressants), lithium, triptans, buspirone, amphetamines, tramadol, and tryptophan may cause serotonin syndrome. These medicines should not be used concomitantly.
• Chloramit H tablet interaction with antidepressants or mood-elevating medicines like fluoxetine and desipramine can cause increased side effects like drowsiness, dizziness, and confusion.
• Chloramit H tablet interaction with antipsychotics (pimozide and haloperidol) and antihistamines can prolong QT interval (ECG reading) and may alter heart rhythm.
• Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), aspirin, and other medications that affect coagulation may interact with Chloramit H tablets and increase the risk of bruising or bleeding.

Interactions with food items

• Avoid caffeine-containing items like tea and coffee. They may reduce the effectiveness of Chloramit H tablets.
• Avoid grapefruit and its juice. They may reduce the effectiveness of Chloramit H tablets.
