Trinex tablet is a prescription medicine used to treat schizophrenia and schizophrenia‐like illnesses. Schizophrenia is a mental disorder characterised by hallucinations, delusions, and extremely dis

ordered thinking and behaviour episodes. Trinex tablets can also be used to treat non-psychotic anxiety disorder. Trinex tablet is a combination medicine that contains Trifluoperazine and Trihexyphenidyl (Benzhexol Hydrochloride) as the main ingredients. This medicine works by affecting the levels of specific chemical messengers, which improve mood, thoughts, and behaviour. Trinex tablets should be taken in dosage and duration as advised by your doctor. Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly without consulting your doctor, as it can cause clinical worsening of your condition or may lead to withdrawal-like symptoms. The common side effects of Trinex tablets are nausea, constipation, sleepiness, dizziness, abdominal pain, dry mouth, and weight gain.

Directions for Use of Trinex 5mg Tablet

  • Take the Trinex tablet as prescribed by the doctor.
  • Take Trinex tablet with or without food or as prescribed.
  • Take Trinex tablet on a regular schedule, preferably at the same time every day.
  • Swallow the whole tablet orally with a glass of water. Do not break or crush the tablet.
  • Do not take Trinex tablets with other medications without consulting your doctor.
  • Do not stop taking Trinex tablets suddenly, as it may lead to withdrawal side effects.
  • Do not exceed the dosage of Trinex tablet, even if you cannot feel its effects.

  • Trinex tablet interaction with anti-Parkinson’s medicines such as levodopa may reduce the effects of levodopa.
  • Trinex tablet interaction with antifungal medications like itraconazole and ketoconazole can reduce its effects.
  • Trinex tablet interaction with antidepressants or mood-elevating medicines like fluoxetine and desipramine leads to increased blood levels of trifluoperazine and causes increased side effects.
