Medical Description

Telista-AM tablet is a medicine used for the treatment of high blood pressure. It contains a combination of telmisartan and amlodipine as its active ingredients. It works by relaxing the blood vessels, thereby decreasing blood pressure. It also increases the supply of oxygen and blood to the heart and decreases the workload on the heart.

Telista-AM tablet can be taken before or after food as prescribed by your doctor. Telmikind AM tablet, Tazloc AM tablet, Telvas AM tablet, Stamlo T tablet and Telma AM tablet all contain the active components telmisartan and amlodipine. High blood pressure is a critical health condition that, if not treated well, can affect other organs and can impose other health conditions. Hence, it is essential to take your anti-hypertensive medicines on time, along with adequate dietary and lifestyle modifications.

Uses of TELISTA AM 40MG STRIP OF 15 TABLETS

Telista-AM tablet is used for the treatment of high blood pressure.

Contraindications of TELISTA AM 40MG STRIP OF 15 TABLETS

If you are allergic to amlodipine, telmisartan or any other ingredients of Telista-AM tablet.
If you are in your second or third trimester of pregnancy.
If you have a liver function problem or an obstruction in the bile duct.
If you have experienced shock recently or a heart attack or heart failure.
If you have heart disease due to which there is an obstruction of the outflow tract of the left ventricles.
If you are taking any medicines containing aliskiren and you happen to be diabetic or have kidney failure problem.

Can I take the Telista-AM tablet during pregnancy?

It is not recommended to use the Telista-AM tablet if you are pregnant; it may cause harm to the developing foetus. If pregnancy is detected when you are on treatment with this medicine, inform your doctor immediately, you will be switched to a safer alternative.

Breast Feeding

Can I take the Telista-AM tablet while breastfeeding?

There is no information available on the safety of the Telista-AM tablet while breastfeeding. Thus, alternative treatment should be preferred. Consult your doctor for more information.

Driving

Can I drive if I have consumed the Telista-AM tablet?

After taking the Telista-AM tablet, you may experience fainting ( due to insufficient blood flow to the brain), sleepiness, dizziness and giddiness. These are infrequent side effects but be cautious while driving or operating any machinery.

Alcohol

Can I consume alcohol with the Telista-AM tablet?

Avoid alcohol during the treatment. It can cause adverse effects along with the Telista-AM tablet. Consuming alcohol when you have a blood pressure problem is not advisable as alcohol can lower blood pressure.

You may experience an excess drop in blood pressure if you are taking other blood pressure-lowering medicine, antifungal medicines and antibiotics with the Telista-AM tablet.
Steroids taken via injection or infusion can interfere with the blood pressure-lowering effect of Telista-AM tablets.
Medicines used as muscle relaxants called dantrolene if taken along can lead to serious heart-related problems.
