Soliqua Solostar 100iu Pre Filled Pen Of 3ml Solution For Injection
Description
Soliqua Solostar Solution for Injection is used to help adults with type 2 diabetes who are not getting enough blood sugar control from diet, exercise, and medications like metformin, with or without SGLT-2 inhibitors. It works by lowering blood sugar levels and supporting better diabetes management when other treatments alone are not enough.
This medicine contains two active ingredients: insulin glargine and lixisenatide. Insulin glargine is a long-acting insulin that provides a steady level of insulin throughout the day and night, helping your body use sugar properly and prevent high blood sugar. Lixisenatide helps your body release insulin when your blood sugar is high, slows the rate at which food leaves your stomach, and reduces the amount of sugar your liver produces, especially after meals.
Soliqua Solostar Solution for Injection is administered once daily, typically within one hour before a meal. Ideally, the same meal every day. You should not inject it on your own unless you have been trained. Side effects may include low blood sugar, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, and dizziness. Always check your blood sugar and follow your doctor's advice if you feel unwell.
Tell your doctor if you have type 1 diabetes, severe kidney disease, stomach problems like gastroparesis, or if you are planning surgery. Also inform them if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to travel. Some medicines can affect how Soliqua Solostar Solution for Injection works, so share a full list of your medications.
Store the unused pen in the fridge, but once opened, keep it at room temperature (below 25°C). Do not freeze. If you miss a dose, take it within an hour before your next meal. Avoid injecting into lumpy or hardened skin, and rotate your injection sites regularly. Be careful with alcohol, as it can change your blood sugar levels, and take precautions when driving if you are at risk of low blood sugar.

Mode of Action
How Does It Work?
- Insulin glargine is a long-acting insulin that helps control your blood sugar levels throughout the day and night. After it is injected, it slowly releases into your body, providing a steady amount of insulin. This helps your body utilise sugar from your blood for energy and prevents high blood sugar levels, especially between meals and during sleep....
- Lixisenatide is a medicine that helps lower blood sugar in people with type 2 diabetes. It works by helping your body release the right amount of insulin when your blood sugar levels are high, slowing down how quickly food leaves your stomach, and reducing the amount of sugar your liver produces. This helps keep your blood sugar levels more stable, especially after meals....
