Sensiclav-625 tablet is an antibiotic used for the treatment of bacterial infections of the lungs, airways, ear, nose, skin, soft tissue, tooth, urinary tract, bone, and joints. It contains a combination of amoxicillin and clavulanic acid as active substances that work by preventing the growth of infection-causing bacteria. Mode of Action of SENSICLAV 625MG TABLET
How Does It Work?
- Sensiclav-625 tablet works by the combined action of its two components - amoxicillin and clavulanic acid.
- Amoxicillin binds to certain proteins called penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) and prevents the formation of the bacterial cell wall. This results in the death of infection-causing bacteria.
- However, bacteria can make an enzyme called beta-lactamase that can destroy amoxicillin. Clavulanic acid inactivates beta-lactamase in the bacteria that can prevent amoxicillin from functioning optimally in the body....
