Sensiclav-625 tablet is an antibiotic used for the treatment of bacterial infections of the lungs, airways, ear, nose, skin, soft tissue, tooth, urinary tract, bone, and joints. It contains a combination of amoxicillin and clavulanic acid as active substances that work by preventing the growth of infection-causing bacteria. You should take this medicine in the exact dose and duration as prescribed by your doctor. You should always complete the entire course of treatment with antibiotics to prevent the risk of re-infection. Inform your doctor about your medical history and if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or are breastfeeding before starting this medicine.

How Does It Work?
- Sensiclav-625 tablet works by the combined action of its two components - amoxicillin and clavulanic acid.
- Amoxicillin binds to certain proteins called penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) and prevents the formation of the bacterial cell wall. This results in the death of infection-causing bacteria.
- However, bacteria can make an enzyme called beta-lactamase that can destroy amoxicillin. Clavulanic acid inactivates beta-lactamase in the bacteria that can prevent amoxicillin from functioning optimally in the body.

- There is an increased risk of bleeding when Sensiclav-625 tablet is taken with blood-thinning medicines like warfarin, and acenocoumarol.
- Particular care should be taken if you are taking medicines for treating gout (probenecid, allopurinol), rheumatoid arthritis (methotrexate), immune system alteration (mycophenolate mofetil).
