Mode of Action

How Does It Work?

Relidep Plus tablet contains a combination of two medicines- Amitriptyline and Chlordiazepoxide. Amitriptyline belongs to the class of tricyclic antidepressants. Tricyclic antidepressants block the metabolism of chemical substances like serotonin and norepinephrine. Both chemical substances are responsible for increasing the body's energy levels and help regulate mood and behaviour. Chlordiazepoxide belongs to the class of benzodiazepines group of sedatives and hypnotics. It increases the concentration of a chemical substance known as gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) at the nerve endings. The increase in the concentration of this substance helps to decrease anxiety and nervousness.
