Freescab Lotion
Description
Freescab Lotion is an anti-scabies medication used to treat skin infestations caused by the Sarcoptes scabiei mite. This medication contains a combination of two active ingredients: cetrimide and gamma benzene hexachloride. It is specifically intended for use in individuals who cannot tolerate other approved medications or for whom other treatments have been unsuccessful. It is essential to use this medicine only for the condition your doctor has prescribed and not for any other skin issues.
This lotion is for external use only. When using it, you should apply it to a healthy skin surface that is free from any cuts or wounds. You should always wash your hands before and after applying the medication, unless your hands are the area being treated. If the lotion accidentally gets into your eyes, you must rinse them immediately with clean water. Do not use more of the medicine or apply it more frequently than your doctor has recommended.
Special care should be taken when using Freescab Lotion if you are an infant, a child, or an elderly individual, or if you weigh less than 50 kg. This medication should also be used with caution if you have other skin conditions, such as atopic dermatitis or psoriasis. If you have a known history of seizures or fits, or if you have any other condition that could increase your risk of having a seizure (like a head injury, a brain tumour, or liver cirrhosis), you should discuss this with your doctor before using the lotion.
You should not use Freescab Lotion if you are allergic to cetrimide, gamma benzene hexachloride, or any of the other ingredients. It is also contraindicated for use in body cavities, such as the mouth or ear, or as an enema. You should not use this medicine near your eyes or middle ear. It should also be avoided in premature infants, if you have crusted (Norwegian) scabies, or if you have an uncontrolled seizure disorder.
