Elwixim Tablet is an antibiotic used to treat various bacterial infections. It helps with infections in the respiratory tract, urinary tract, ears, sinuses, throat, and some sexually transmitted dise

ases. You should take this medication only with the guidance of a healthcare professional. Take Elwixim Tablet regularly at the same times each day as your doctor directs. It’s important to finish the entire course of antibiotics, even if you start to feel better. Stopping early can lead to infections coming back or getting worse. Elwixim Tablet works for bacterial infections but not viral infections like the flu or the common cold. Using antibiotics when you don’t need them can make them less effective for future infections. Breast Feeding

Can I take Elwixim Tablet while breastfeeding?

It is unknown whether Cefixime passes into the breastmilk. Hence, it is advised to discontinue nursing temporarily if you are treated with Elwixim Tablet. If you are taking this medicine while breastfeeding, watch for diarrhoea in your baby.

Driving

Can I drive if I have consumed Elwixim Tablet?

Talk to your doctor if

You have problems with your liver or kidneys.
You experience skin reactions after taking Elwixim Tablet.
You have or had encephalopathy (damage or disease that affects the brain and alters the way the brain works).
You are suffering from a condition called haemolytic anaemia (a condition where red blood cells get broken down faster than they are formed).
You experience watery diarrhoea, stomach pain and fever.

Mode of Action of Elwixim 200 MG

How Does It Work?

Elwixim Tablet works by inhibiting the growth of the cell wall of bacteria, which eventually leads to the death of the bacteria.

Directions for Use of Elwixim 200 MG

Take Elwixim Tablet as directed by your doctor.
Swallow it as a whole with a glass of water, do not cut, break or chew the medicine.
It would be best if you took it at a fixed time for optimal results and should not consume it more than that prescribed by your doctor.
Always complete the course of antibiotic medicine and do not discontinue on your own.

Interactions with other medicines

Some medicines can affect the way Elwixim Tablet works or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interactions.
Especially, if you are taking Carbamazepine (a medicine used to treat seizures) and blood thinners such as Warfarin.
Elwixim Tablet may alter the clotting parameters and there is a risk of unusual bleeding.

Dosage of Elwixim 200 MG

Overdose

Seek medical care immediately in case you happen to take too much of Elwixim Tablet. This medicine may cause a risk of encephalopathy (damage to your brain) if taken in large quantities.
