Medical Description

Zifi LBX Neo tablet is an antibiotic medicine containing a combination of Cefixime, Cloxacillin and Lactobacillus. It is used to treat different types of bacterial infections of the nose, ear, throat, skin, urinary tract, etc. Zifi LBX Neo tablet should be taken as directed by the doctor and in doses and duration as prescribed. It should be taken on an empty stomach. Complete the entire course of medicine and do not consume these tablets more than that prescribed as it may cause some serious effects. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding and about all the medicines and supplements you take and all the conditions or diseases you suffer from, before starting the Zifi LBX Neo tablet.

Zifi LBX Neo tablet is used for the treatment of various types of bacterial infections.

Contraindications

  • If you are allergic to Cefixime, Cloxacillin, Lactobacillus or any other ingredients of Zifi LBX Neo tablet.
  • If you are allergic to a similar class of antibiotics called cephalosporins or penicillins.

Talk to your doctor if
  • You have problems with your liver or kidneys.
  • You are suffering from any blood disorder or heart disease.
  • You develop an allergic reaction after taking Zifi LBX Neo tablet, immediately contact your doctor.

Directions for Use

Zifi LBX Neo tablet should be taken as directed by your doctor. Swallow it whole with a glass of water, do not cut, break or chew the medicine. It should be taken before food. It would be best if you took it at a fixed time for optimal results and should not consume it more than that prescribed by your doctor.

Storage and disposal

  • Store Zifi LBX Neo tablet at room temperature protected from moisture and heat.
  • Keep the tablets out of reach and sight of children and pets.
  • Do not use expired or damaged medicines.
  • Discard any unused medicine properly, do not flush in the toilet or throw it into the drain.

Overdose

Excess of Zifi LBX Neo tablet may lead to serious effects causing brain damage and even death. Symptoms of overdose include nausea, vomiting, and diarrhoea (usually severe), fits, confusion, difficulty in making movements, loss of alertness. If you experience any of the symptoms of having consumed too much of this medicine, please contact your doctor or rush to a nearby hospital immediately.

Missed a Dose

In case you’ve missed any dose of Zifi LBX Neo tablet, take it as soon as you remember it. If it is almost time for the next dose, then skip the missed dose. Avoid taking a double dose to compensate for the missed dose.

  • Zifi LBX Neo tablet works by the combined action of its three components - Cefixime, Cloxacillin and Lactobacillus.
  • Cefixime and Cloxacillin are both antibiotics, which work by inhibiting the protein synthesis and cell wall synthesis of bacteria, which ultimately leads to the death of bacteria.
  • Lactobacillus are a gut friendly bacteria, which is often used as a probiotic. It helps in improving digestion and also prevents diarrhoea caused due to use of antibiotics.

Interactions with other medicines

  • Some medicines can affect the way Zifi LBX Neo tablet works, or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
  • Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements, or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction.
  • Especially, if you are taking medicines like Carbamazepine (a medicine used to treat seizures), oral contraceptive pills, Probenecid (used to treat gout).
  • Concomitant use along with medicines that alter or weaken your immune system such as methotrexate, prednisone, methylprednisolone, dexamethasone should be avoided.
  • Concomitant use of Zifi LBX Neo tablet along with blood thinners like warfarin may cause an increased risk of bleeding. Thus, should be used with caution.
  • You should let the doctor or the laboratory person know that you are using this medicine while going for a lab test, as this medicine may interfere with the lab tests.
