Zaptra is a prescription tablet manufactured by Intas Pharmaceuticals Ltd. It is from the drug class of antidepressants and is used to treat depression. Zaptra tablets contain paroxetine (12.5 mg) and clonazepam (0.5 mg).
Depression is a mood condition in which a person's daily activities are disrupted by feelings of melancholy, dissatisfaction, anger, hopelessness, or loss. Depression has no established cause; however, it has been linked to mental health issues, trauma, family history, drug use, and physiological diseases. Some chronic health conditions and relationships can be influenced by depression.
Zaptra is a combination medication that enhances mood by raising the level of chemical messengers in the brain. It also soothes the brain by reducing nerve cell activity that is excessive or abnormal. This medicine should not be taken without the consultation of a doctor.
This medicine should be taken at the same time of the day with or without food and should not be skipped, even after the resolution of the symptoms. Zaptra has a habit-forming tendency, so it should not be abused.
Even if you feel better, do not stop taking it until your doctor recommends you to. Sudden stoppage can lead to serious health issues.

- This medicine should not be stopped abruptly. Suddenly stopping the medication can result in treatment failure or serious withdrawal symptoms, which may lead to serious health issues.
Directions for Use
- You should take Zaptra tablets in the same dose and duration prescribed by the doctor.
- It should be swallowed as a whole with water.
- It should not be chewed or crushed. Do not break the tablet.
- You can take Zaptra tablets with or without food.
- You should take it at a fixed time daily.
- Avoid missing the dose or forgetting the dose.
- It is advisable to take combutol with an antacid that contains aluminium at least four hours before or after taking medicine.
Storage and disposal
Store Zaptra tablets at room temperature, away from direct heat and light, in a cool place. Do not freeze it and keep them away from pets and children.
Dosage
Overdose
Don't take Zaptra tablets more than the prescribed dose. Overdosing will not improve the symptoms; rather, it will lead to toxicity in the body. It can lead to severe side effects. In case of overdose, directly visit the nearest emergency room of the hospital.
Signs of overdose may include rashes, hives, dizziness, swelling, wheezing, cough, shortness of breath, aggressiveness etc.
Do not give the same medication to someone else who has the same condition as it may lead to unwanted side effects.
Missed a Dose
If you have missed the dose of Zaptra tablets, take it as soon as you remember it. If it is close to the time of the next dose, then let it be. Take the next dose at the normal time.
Do not take two doses together or take more than prescribed to compensate for the missed dose. Do not stop or change the dose of the medicine without consulting the doctor.
If you are regularly missing the dose, then set the alarm or ask your medical guardian to remind you to take the tablet. Consult the doctor to discuss the missed doses and understand what can be done for the missed doses.

How Does It Work?
Clonazepam in Zaptra raises gamma-amino-butyric acid (GABA) levels in the brain, a soothing chemical. Paroxetine raises serotonin levels, which improves mood, behaviour, and prevents depression symptoms.
The Zaptra tablet works by altering the balance of specific neurotransmitters in the brain (such as serotonin). It improves your mood and emotions of well-being, relieves worry and tension, improves your sleep, and boosts your energy level. It's a good antidepressant, although it can cause sleepiness.
