Xtrapred Eye Drops 5ml

• If you are allergic to prednisolone or any other ingredients of the Xtrapred eye drop.
• If you have an untreated eye infection, especially one with pus (a sign of a bacterial infection), you should not use this medicine.
• If you have certain viral infections of the eye, such as herpes simplex (especially if it is affecting the cornea), chickenpox (varicella), or vaccinia, this medication should be avoided.
• If you have a fungal infection in or around the eye, Xtrapred eye drop should not be used.
• If you have a mycobacterial infection (like tuberculosis) involving the eye, this medicine is not suitable.
• If you are allergic to any of the ingredients in Xtrapred eye drop, or to other corticosteroid medicines, do not use this product.

• Irritation, burning, stinging, and itching sensations in the eye where the medication is instilled.
• Dry eye

Other General Warnings

• You use this medicine for a long time, it may lead to cataracts (clouding of the eye lens) or increased pressure inside your eye, which can cause glaucoma and damage your vision.
• You already have glaucoma (increased eye pressure).
• You have eye conditions that cause thinning of the cornea or sclera (the outer layers of the eye).
• You have a pus-filled eye infection.
• You have had cataract surgery.
• You have or had a viral eye infection, especially herpes simplex.

• Always wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water before touching the eye drop bottle or your eyes.
• Shaken well before use. Either lie down or look up while sitting or standing. Gently squeeze the bottle to put one drop into the lower eyelid pocket. Don’t blink right away.

• Store it in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.
• Keep it in a safe place where children and pets can’t reach.
• Close the bottle tightly after use and store it according to the directions.

Interactions with other medicines

• Using medications that block an enzyme called CYP3A, such as cobicistat-containing products, can increase the amount of steroid absorbed into the body. This raises the risk of serious steroid side effects, including weight gain, swelling, mood changes, or high blood pressure.
• Combining these eye drops with CYP3A inhibitors should generally be avoided unless absolutely necessary. In such cases, close monitoring by your doctor is crucial to detect any potential side effects.
• Always share a complete list of all medications you're taking with your doctor or pharmacist to help prevent harmful interactions.
