Swelinex Dt 20 MG Description

Swelinex Dt tablet is a pain reliever. Managing the symptoms of moderate to severe pain caused by conditions like osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and rheumatoid arthritis is the primary use o

f Swelinex Dt tablet. This medicine is indicated in conditions with pain and swelling in weight-bearing joints such as the knees and hips. It can also lower inflammation of the knee joints. The active ingredient in Swelinex Dt tablets is Piroxicam. The mode of action of Swelinex Dt tablets is to prevent the release of certain chemical substances that cause the symptoms of inflammation at the site of injury or because of a disorder. It can also lower pain and fever. Inform your doctor if you had coronary artery bypass surgery (CABG), as it is a contraindication of Swelinex Dt tablets. Nausea, constipation, flatulence, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, headache, dizziness, oedema, and rash are a few side effects of Swelinex Dt tablets. The doctor’s directions for use of Swelinex Dt tablets should be strictly followed. This tablet should be taken with or after meals to prevent stomach discomfort. Inform your doctor if you have any bleeding disorder, stomach ulcers, kidney, or liver disease before starting treatment with Swelinex Dt tablets. Notify the doctor in case you are pregnant or planning to conceive.

Uses of Swelinex Dt 20 MG

  • As per CDSCO and USFDA, Swelinex Dt tablets are indicated for symptomatic relief in the following conditions:
  • Osteoarthritis (cartilage that cushions the bones wears down over time)
  • Rheumatoid arthritis (body’s immune system attacks its tissue, including joints)
  • Ankylosing spondylitis (cause some of the bones in the spine or vertebrae to fuse)

Contraindications of Swelinex Dt 20 MG

  • Do not take Swelinex Dt tablets, or use caution:
  • If you are allergic to Piroxicam or any active component of Swelinex Dt tablets.
  • If you are at risk for myocardial infarction (heart attack) or a stroke. Swelinex Dt tablets can increase the risk of these conditions.
  • If you use any pain medicines after a coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery.
  • If you have a history of asthma, especially due to an allergic reaction to the medication aspirin.
  • If you have a liver illness that affects the liver’s functioning, this medication might increase the risk of adverse effects.
  • If you are over 30 weeks pregnant, this medicine can cause heart valve disorder in the foetus.
  • If you have an advanced kidney disorder.
  • If you are diagnosed with signs of anaemia after using this medicine.
  • If you have a history of respiratory disorders such as asthma.
  • If you have stomach bleeding or perforation, this medicine can worsen your condition due to increased bleeding.
  • If your body has been in shock (very low blood pressure), with not enough blood to pump to all body parts.
  • If you want to administer this medicine to a child. Do not give this tablet to children without consulting a doctor, especially those with a history of kidney failure.
