Rozavel 40mg Tab is a hypolipidemic medication belonging to the family of statins that are used in lowering the levels of low density lipoproteins (LDL) in the body. The main ingredient in the composition of Rozavel 40mg Tab is rosuvastatin.

Can I take Rozavel 40mg Tab during pregnancy?
This medicine is not advised to used by pregnant women or women who are planning pregnancy as it is known to have harmful effects on the foetus.
Can I take Rozavel 40mg Tab while breastfeeding?
The medicine is unsafe for breastfeeding mothers and should not be taken while breastfeeding. Please consult your doctor for alternative medicines for your condition.
Can I drive if I have consumed Rozavel 40mg Tab?
The medicine is not known to affect the ability to drive.
Can I consume alcohol with Rozavel 40mg Tab?
Excessive intake of alcohol during the treatment from this medicine can result in liver damage and should be avoided.

Mode of Action of Rozavel 40mg Tab
How Does It Work?
This medicine acts by inhibiting the enzyme HMG-CoA reductase, which is responsible for the formation of cholesterol in the body. Therefore, the levels of LDL are reduced and, eventually, the levels of good cholesterol are increased in the body.
Directions for Use of Rozavel 40mg Tab
Rozavel 40mg Tab should be used exactly as instructed by the healthcare practitioner. The medicine should be taken at the same time daily.
Interactions of Rozavel 40mg Tab
Interactions with other medicines
When this medicine is administered alongside lipid-lowering agents, there is an increased risk of myopathy. The lowest necessary dose of this medicine should be prescribed when given along with amiodarone, diltiazem, or verapamil. Medicines like cyclosporine, warfarin, oral contraceptive pills, itraconazole, ketoconazole, erythromycin, clarithromycin, telithromycin and HIV protease inhibitors have significant interactions with this medicine as they are known to reduce the levels of statins. Any antacids like aluminium hydroxide should not be taken within two hours of consumption of this medicine. This medicine should not be taken along with fusidic acid or the medicines consisting the same within seven days of stopping fusidic acid as it can cause rhabdomyolysis.
Interactions with food items
The intake of grapefruit juice should be limited during treatment with this medicine.
Other general Interactions
Individuals with liver and kidneys' disorders should avoid this medicine. Also, individuals with previous history of muscular pain should discuss the implications before starting the medicine. Pregnant and breastfeeding women are also advised not to use this medicine.
