Take the missed dose of Risdone Ls as soon as you remember. If your next dose is coming up soon, skip the missed one. Don’t double dose to make up for a missed dose.

Mode of Action

How Does It Work?

It's been postulated that a combination of dopamine Type 2 (D2) and serotonin Type 2 (5HT2) receptor antagonism is involved in the medicine's therapeutic effect in schizophrenia. Risdone is a selective monoaminergic antagonist that binds to the serotonin Type 2, dopamine Type 2, 1 and 2 adrenergic, and H1 histaminergic receptors with a high affinity (Ki of 0.12 to 7.3 nM). Risdone has a lower potency as an antagonist at other receptors. Risperidone has a low to moderate affinity (Ki of 47 to 253 nM) for serotonin 5HT1C, 5HT1D, and 5HT1A receptors, a weak affinity (Ki of 620 to 800 nM) for dopamine D1 and haloperidol-sensitive sigma sites, and no affinity (when tested at concentrations >10-5 M) for cholinergic muscarinic or 1 and 2 receptors.
