Rabez D Strip Of 10 Capsules Description

Rabez D Capsule is an anti-reflux medicine. It is used for the treatment of GERD (Gastroesophageal reflux disease). GERD is a condition where acid from the stomach flows back to the food pipe. The b

ackflow of acid irritates the lining of the food pipe and leads to chest pain and heartburn. It contains two medicines - rabeprazole and domperidone. The combination is used in patients in which rabeprazole alone is not able to control acid reflux. Rabez D Capsule must be taken as directed by the doctor and in doses and duration as prescribed. It must be taken before meals.

It is used to treat gastrointestinal reflux disease. It leads to acid regurgitating from the stomach into the food pipe, causing heartburn, chest discomfort and acidity.

Contraindications of Rabez D Strip Of 10 Capsules

If you are allergic to the medicine or other ingredients of the medicine.
If you are taking medications that affect the contraction of the heart muscle (QT prolongation).
If you suffer bleeding in the digestive system.
If you suffer from liver or kidney disorder.
If you have heart problems like congestive heart failure, heart rhythm problems, electrolyte imbalance.
If you have a tumour in the pituitary gland (Prolactin pituitary tumours).
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Breast Feeding

Can I take Rabez-D while breastfeeding?

The medicine passes into breast milk in small amounts and might affect the baby. Consult the doctor if you are breastfeeding, after assessing the benefits over risks the doctor might change the medicine, ask to stop breastfeeding or closely monitor the baby.

Driving

Can I drive if I have consumed Rabez-D?

If you experience drowsiness and visual disturbances after taking the medicine, avoid driving or using machines.

Alcohol

Can I consume alcohol with Rabez-D?

Drinking alcohol when you are taking the medicine does not affect the way it works. Avoid drinking large quantities of alcohol as it is known to increase acidity and make the acidity worse.

Other General Warnings

Talk to your doctor if

You develop watery diarrhoea, fever after taking the medicine.
You experience black stools.
You have a stomach tumour.
You have a history of fractures or have osteoporosis or taking steroids.
You have liver and kidney disease or kidney failure.
You have heart problems and symptoms like palpitations, difficulty in breathing, unconsciousness.
You are on the medicine for more than three months. Your blood magnesium levels may drop. The doctor asks to perform regular tests for the same.
You are taking medicines to treat HIV.
You must not give the medicine to children of 12 years and below.
You have low levels of vitamin B12. The medicine reduces the absorption of vitamin B12 after long term use. Supplements may be needed.
Taking the medicine for more than one year may increase the chances of developing bone fractures.
