Pexep Cr (continued release) tablets are a prescription medication used to treat major depression disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder (repetitive thoughts that make you do things again and again), and panic disorders. It is composed of a single active ingredient: Paroxetine. It increases the amount of a chemical substance in the body that improves mood and behaviour. Depression is a common mood disorder that affects a person's daily life due to sudden intense feelings of sadness, loss of interest, anger, loneliness, etc. The symptoms and intensity of depression vary from person to person. Pexep Cr tablet helps in reducing the symptoms and providing calming effects on the mood and improving behaviour. Some of the other uses of this medicine involve managing conditions like panic disorders. Do not stop using Pexep Cr medicine, without consulting your doctor. This medication may cause physical dependence if used for long duration or in people who have a history of drug or alcohol addiction. It can also cause suicidal thoughts and tendencies in some young people. Inform you complete medical history and current treatments to your doctor, as this medication can not be used in certain conditions

  • As per CDSCO, Pexep Cr tablets are used for managing the symptoms of major depression.

Contraindications

If you are allergic to any components of the Pexep Cr 25 mg tablet If you are already using another antidepressant, anti-anxiety or sedatives, as they can interfere, they can cause adverse reactions. If you are having suicidal thoughts or tedencies. If you are already pregnant or trying to get pregnant If you have acute angle-closure glaucoma, an eye condition with increased fluid pressure, that can get worse by this medicine. If you have bleeding issues or if you are currently on a blood thinner medication. These tablets can increase bleeding. This medicine is not recommended for children below 18 years of age.
