Orazep 2Mg Tablets

• Orazep 2 mg Tablets are used in,
• Treatment of anxiety
• Treatment of insomnia
• Preoperative sedation

• If you are hypersensitive or allergic to lorazepam or other benzodiazepines and other inactive substances present in the medication
• If you have narrow-angle glaucoma, a condition in which the iris of the eye bulges forward and narrows the drainage angle. Orazep 2 mg can worsen the condition.
• If you have a condition called myasthenia gravis, in which there is rapid fatigue of muscles that are under voluntary control.

• Drowsiness
• Dry mouth
• Confusion
• Blurred vision
• Rapid weight gain
• Shaking of hands and feet
• Constipation
• Weakness
• Balance disorder

Other General Warnings

• You have suicidal thoughts or experience a behaviour change. Any unusual symptoms or changes in behaviour should be reported to the doctor immediately.
• You have allergic reactions such as rashes, swelling, severe dizziness, or difficulty breathing after taking this medicine.
• You want to do activities that require high alertness. Orazep 2 mg Tablets can cause moderate levels of sedation and can hamper the ability to do tasks requiring high alertness and concentration.
• You are over 65 years of age, as there is an increased risk of adverse reactions.
• You are obese, as it can increase the risk of developing adverse side effects.
• You want to discontinue the medicine. Suddenly stopping Orazep 2 mg Tablets may cause withdrawal symptoms, more so if the medicine has been used for a long time.
• You have a history of depression, since it can worsen the condition.
• Orazep 2 mg Tablets are not recommended for children below the age of 5 years.

• Orazep 2 mg Tablets must be taken as directed by the doctor.
• Take Orazep 2 mg Tablets at the same time every day for optimal pharmacological effects.
• Swallow Orazep 2 mg Tablets as a whole with a glass of water. Do not break, crush, or chew it. This can reduce its efficacy.
• Orazep 2 mg Tablets can be taken with or without food.
• Do not take more than the recommended dosage of Orazep 2 mg Tablets. Consult your doctor if you feel that your prescribed dosage isn’t working for you.
• Do not stop taking Orazep 2 mg Tablets without consulting your doctor.

Interactions with other medicines

• Orazep 2 mg tablets can interact with many medicines and cause adverse side effects. It is advised to inform the doctor of all medication being taken so they can be checked for possible interaction issues. The following medicines are known to interact with Orazep 2 mg tablets.
• Cetirizine (medication in the treatment of allergic symptoms such as runny nose, watery eyes, sneezing, etc.) - increases side effects such as dizziness, difficulty in concentrating, impairment of judgement and motor coordination.
• Metoclopramide (medication used to manage nausea or vomiting) - increases side effects such as dizziness, difficulty in concentrating, impairment of judgement and motor coordination.
• Opioids (powerful pain relief medications)
• Ramipril (medication used in the treatment of high blood pressure) - may have additive effects and lower blood pressure drastically, causing side effects such as headache, dizziness, etc.
• Atenolol (medication used in the treatment of irregular heartbeat and high blood pressure) - may have additive effects and lower blood pressure drastically, causing side effects such as headache, dizziness, etc.

Interactions with food items

• Food does not influence the effect of Orazep 2 mg . So, a regular diet can be continued unless advised otherwise by the doctor.
• Additionally, inform the doctor about any supplements or herbal drinks you take before beginning your Orazep 2 mg tablets.
