Olprovate S Lotion is used to treat skin conditions such as psoriasis and eczema.

Contraindications of Olprovate S Lotion

  • If you are allergic to clobetasol, salicylic acid or any other ingredients of Olprovate S Lotion.
  • If you have acne or rosacea (a skin condition affecting the face).
  • If you have itching of skin without scaling of the skin.
  • If you have itching around your private parts.
  • If you have a skin infection over the area around the mouth.
  • If you have a viral infection of the skin such as chickenpox infection or herpes infection.
  • If you have a fungal or bacterial infection of the skin.
  • If you are using this medicine for the treatment of skin ulcers.

Side effects of Olprovate S Lotion

Burning sensation, irritation, redness, itching at the site of application.

How Does It Work?

  • Olprovate S Lotion works by the combined action of both its ingredients.
  • Clobetasol is a steroid, which works by blocking the production of certain chemical substances in the body (prostaglandins) which cause itching, swelling and redness.
  • Salicylic acid works by removing and shedding dead cells from the top layer of skin by increasing skin moisture resulting in a decrease in scaling and dryness.
