Nupenta Tablet contains the active substance Pantoprazole that belongs to a group of medicines called "Proton pump inhibitor," medications that reduce the amount of acid produced in the stomach. It h
elps in relieving symptoms of acid reflux disorders like heartburn, chest discomfort and indigestion. You may experience headache, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, gases and diarrhoea. Taking this medicine for a longer span may weaken your bones and increase your risk of fractures. This medicine is known to reduce the absorption of vitamin B12 after long term use. Please inform your doctor about all your medical conditions before using this medicine.

Uses of Nupenta 40 MG
- To treat ulcers in the stomach or intestine.
- For Zollinger-Ellison syndrome (a tumour in the pancreas, which causes oversecretion of stomach acids).
- Treatment of Gastroesophageal reflux disease (symptoms like heartburn & chest pain right after eating).
Contraindications of Nupenta 40 MG
- You are allergic to Pantoprazole, or any other proton pump inhibitors.
- If you are allergic to any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
- If you are on a medicine called Rilpivirine.

Other General Warnings
- You experience allergies after taking this medicine or have a skin reaction after taking similar medicines.
- You have weak and brittle bones (osteoporosis), your doctor may advise you to take a Vitamin D supplement while taking this medicine.
- You are taking an anti-HIV medicine such as atazanavir or painkillers such as aspirin.
- You have a Vitamin B12 deficiency as Nupenta Tablet tablet can reduce the absorption of Vitamin B12 when used for the long term, inform your doctor.
- You are supposed to do a blood test (Chromogranin A). This medicine may alter the results.
- Long-term use of this tablet can lead to diarrhoea and malabsorption. Hence, it is to be taken cautiously and as per the doctor’s advice.
- You have liver-related problems, especially in the case of increased liver enzymes, the treatment should be stopped.
- Nupenta Tablet mg tablets are not recommended for children below the age of 12 years.

How Does It Work?
Directions for Use of Nupenta 40 MG
- Nupenta Tablet must be taken as directed by your doctor.
- The medicine is taken 1 hour before food, on an empty stomach.
- Do not chew or break the pill, swallow with a whole glass of water.
- Do not take this medicine if it has passed its expiry date.
Interactions of Nupenta 40 MG
Interactions with other medicines
- Nupenta Tablet may alter the action of medicines whose bioavailability is dependent on stomach acid such as ketoconazole.
- Nupenta Tablet must not be co-administered with atazanavir, an anti-HIV medicine and methotrexate, an immunomodulator.
- Frequent monitoring of blood clotting parameters is required if you are taking blood thinners such as warfarin. There is also a risk of bleeding.
- Levels of methotrexate (used to treat certain types of cancer) can be increased in the body upon concomitant use with Nupenta Tablet.
- Any other medicines, supplements or herbal preparations, if you are taking, should be informed to your doctor while he prescribes you this medicine to avoid interactions.
Interactions with food items
- Pantoprazole should preferably be taken on an empty stomach.
- There are no known interactions with food or beverages.
- However, nicotine, caffeine (coffee, tea, chocolate, and cola) can increase stomach acid or delay ulcer healing and hinder the treatment process.

- Nupenta Tablet should be stored at room temperature.
- To be stored away from sunlight and also keep away from the reach of children and pets.
