Nizol 200 mg tablet is a prescription medication mainly used to treat fungal infection. Nizol 200 mg tablet contains ketoconazole as an active ingredient, in a dose of 200 mg. It is very effective in
treating fungal infections of the throat, vagina, mouth, nails etc. Ketoconazole mainly attacks the cell membrane of fungi. Your doctor decides the dose and duration. You need to take nizole strictly as per your doctor's advice, as it has some side effects that can get very serious if you take it without consultation. It mainly acts by attacking fungi's cell membrane and stopping their growth, and eventually killing them.

Uses of Nizol 200 MG

Contraindications of Nizol 200 MG
- If you are allergic to the medication.
- If you have severe liver dysfunction.
- If you are on medicines like dofetilide and quinidine (both are used for heart rhythm problems or arrhythmias), this leads to a condition known as torsades de pointes, in which the ventricular rate increases abnormally, resulting in abnormal heart rhythm, which can lead to sudden cardiac death...

How Does It Work?
Nizole 200 mg acts by inhibiting the synthesis of essential components of fungal cell walls like ergosterol.
This makes the cell membrane weak and eventually kills the fungus
Directions for Use of Nizol 200 MG
- Use Nizol tablet as per your doctor's prescription.
- Read the instructions carefully given on the label.
- Go thoroughly through the instructions.
- Check for the date of expiry. If the expiry date has been passed, don't use the medication.
- Make sure the packaging is intact. Discard if the packaging has been damaged.
- Swallow the tablet as a whole, do not crush or chew it.
- Have it with a glass of water.
- Have it with food.
- The dose and duration are decided by your doctor depending upon your condition.
- It may be required that there will be a period of use and another of non-use, but try to have these intervals equally spaced.

Interactions with other medicines
- Nizole 200mg interacts with alprazolam (a type of sleeping pill)
- Nizole 200 mg interacts with cisapride (a medication used for relieving the symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease)
- Nizole 200 mg interacts with atorvastatin (a medication used to lower cholesterol) and can increase the levels of the later in blood, increasing the risk of side effects such as liver damage and a rare but serious condition called rhabdomyolysis....
- Nizole also interacts with cimetidine (a medicine used for treating symptoms like acidity ) by lowering its blood concentration.

Dosage of Nizol 200 MG
Overdose
