Neulora\N 2mg Tab is a prescription medication used to manage anxiety and short-term relief of anxiety associated with depression. The active ingredient of Neulora\N 2mg is a medication called lorazepam.
Anxiety and depression are mental health disorders. These disorders can lead to a person feeling excessively sad, angry, unmotivated and may lead to a decrease in the quality of their life. Lorazepam works by increasing a chemical known as GABA(gamma-aminobutyric acid) in the brain, which has a calming effect and creates a general sense of wellbeing.
It is important to take Neulora\N 2mg Tab in the dose recommended by the doctor and for the prescribed duration. Neulora\N 2mg Tab has habit-forming potential.
Uses

Contraindications
- If you have hypersensitivity to lorazepam, other benzodiazepines or inactive components of Neulora\N 2mg Tab.
- If you have myasthenia gravis.
- If you have been diagnosed with impaired liver, lung, or kidney function.
- If you suffer from sleep apnea/breathing or chest problems.
- If you have an alcohol dependence disorder.
- If you have suicidal tendencies.
- If you have acute narrow-angle glaucoma.
- If you have arteriosclerosis, a condition that affects blood flow.

Talk to your doctor if

Directions for Use
- For optimal pharmacological effects, it is recommended to take Neulora\N 2mg Tab at fixed times every day. Preferably at night.
- Neulora\N 2mg Tab can be taken with or without food.
- Swallow Neulora\N 2mg Tab whole. Do not break, crush, or chew it.
- Take Neulora\N 2mg Tab only in the dose recommended by the doctor. Do not alter the dose in any way, as this may lead to undesirable side effects.
- It is important to take Neulora\N 2mg Tab for the entire duration prescribed to you by your doctor. This holds true even if you begin to feel better.
- Abruptly stopping Neulora\N 2mg Tab can lead to side effects such as increased irritability, nausea, or anxiety.
Storage and disposal
Store Neulora\N 2mg Tab in a cool and dry place. Neulora\N 2mg Tab does not require refrigeration and should be stored at room temperature. Keep Neulora\N 2mg Tabs away from the reach of children and pets at home.
Dispose of unused/expired tablets as biomedical waste to avoid accidental consumption by humans and animals.

Overdose
An overdose of Neulora\N 2mg Tab can lead to many serious side effects. In mild cases, symptoms include drowsiness, mental confusion, and lethargy. The most common and initial symptom is somnolence. This may progress to coma, respiratory depression, and death following very large ingestions. Immediately seek medical care at a tertiary centre in cases of an overdose.
Missed a Dose
In case you miss a dose of Neulora\N 2mg Tab, take it as soon as you can. However, if more than 3 hours have passed since the scheduled time of the dose, skip the dose you have missed and continue with your regular scheduled dose. Do not double the dose of this medication.

How Does It Work?
The pharmacological component of Neulora\N 2mg Tab is a medication called lorazepam. This medicine belongs to a group of medications called benzodiazepines. It acts by increasing the amount of a chemical in the brain called GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid). GABA is an inhibitory neurotransmitter. This means that it is a chemical that sends suppressing signals to the nerves in the part of the body in which it is secreted. In people suffering from anxiety and depression, there is an excessive activity of nerve cells in the brain. This activity is suppressed by the increased secretion of GABA in the brain.
Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- To avoid side effects associated with medicine interaction, it is important to inform the doctor about all medicines and supplements you are currently taking.
- Neulora\N 2mg Tab may interact with:
- Co-administration with other benzodiazepines, muscle relaxants or opioids is not recommended as it can potentiate its actions.
- The metabolism of lorazepam(active ingredient of Neulora\N 2mg Tab) may be reduced with certain medicines like ritonavir, atazanavir, efavirenz, saquinavir, etc. This may lead to their actions of these medicines being prolonged. Hence, it is not recommended.
- The metabolism of lorazepam may be increased with certain medicines like rifampicin, linezolid, etc. This may reduce its efficacy. Co-administration of these medicines is not recommended.
Interactions with food items
- It is recommended to avoid caffeine-containing substances such as tea, coffee, etc., while taking Neulora\N 2mg Tab. This is due to the fact that caffeine is anxiogenic (causes anxiety) and may reduce the effectiveness of this medication.
