Uses of Naproplat 150 MG
Naproplat Injection is used in the treatment of certain types of lung cancer and ovarian cancer.
Contraindications of Naproplat 150 MG
- If you are allergic to carboplatin or to any of the ingredients of Naproplat Injection.
- If you have had allergic reactions to similar platinum-containing medicines in the past.
- If you have kidney disease.
- If you have fewer blood cells than normal.
- If you have a tumour that bleeds.
- If you plan to receive a yellow fever vaccination or have just received one.

Pregnancy

Talk to your doctor if
- You are pregnant or there is a chance you may be pregnant.

- You develop extreme tiredness and shortness of breath with decreased number of red blood cells (haemolytic anaemia), alone or combined with low platelet count, abnormal bruising (thrombocytopenia) and kidney disease where you pass little or no urine after using this medicine. ...
- You have a fever (temperature greater than or equal to 38°C) or chills, which could be signs of infection.
Mode of Action of Naproplat 150 MG
How Does It Work?
Naproplat Injection interacts with DNA (genetic material) and causes certain changes in the DNA. This results in problems in DNA synthesis leading to anti-cancer effects.
Directions for Use of Naproplat 150 MG
- Naproplat Injection will be given in the hospital by your doctor or nurse.
- Do not self-inject this medicine. Follow any aftercare instructions given by the doctor or nurse.
Interactions of Naproplat 150 MG
Interactions with other medicines
- Some medicines can affect the way Naproplat Injection works or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
- Tell your doctor about all medicines, supplements or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction.
- Particular care should be taken if you are taking medicines that can reduce the number of cells in your blood at the same time as Naproplat Injection.
- Some antibiotics called aminoglycosides, vancomycin, capreomycin and water tablets (diuretics), if taken at the same time as this medicine, may increase the risk of kidney or hearing problems.
- Live or live-attenuated vaccines (for yellow fever vaccine) should not be taken at the same time as Naproplat Injection.
- Caution should be exercised when taking blood-thinning medicines like warfarin and other medicines which decrease the activity of the immune system (ciclosporin, tacrolimus and sirolimus).
- Phenytoin and fosphenytoin (used to treat various types of convulsions and seizures) taken at the same time as this medicine may increase the risk of a seizure.
Storage and disposal of Naproplat 150 MG
- Store Naproplat Injection in a cool and dry place. Protect from light. Do not freeze.
- Keep out of reach of children and pets.
Dosage of Naproplat 150 MG
Overdose
Naproplat Injection will be given to you by a doctor or nurse and hence, the chances of an overdose are unlikely.
