Lora Injection 2 ml is a prescription medication primarily used for status epilepticus (serious seizures that do not stop). It is also used before surgeries or procedures to cause drowsiness, decrease anxiety, and cause forgetfulness about the procedure or surgery. Status epilepticus is a condition in which seizures continue for a long time (more than 5 minutes), or a seizure follows immediately after another. It is a medical emergency. Lora Injection 2 ml reduces the abnormal and excessive nerve cell activity, which helps relax the brain and helps in stabilising the seizure.
Lora Injection 2 ml is composed of lorazepam, which belongs to the benzodiazepine class of medicine. It has anti-anxiety, sedative, and anticonvulsant effects. Mode of action of Lora Injection 2 ml is by lowering neurological activity in the brain by increasing certain chemical messengers.
Lora Injection is given as an injection under the supervision of a healthcare professional. Avoid using it unnecessarily or without medical advice as it may cause tolerance. Overdose
- Mild overdose of Lora Injection 2 ml can cause symptoms like drowsiness, mental confusion and lethargy. In more serious cases, and especially when other CNS-depressant drugs or alcohol are ingested, symptoms may include ataxia, hypotension, hypotonia, respiratory depression, cardiovascular depression, coma and, very rarely, death. In case of an overdose of this medicine or if you experience any of these symptoms, immediately seek emergency medical treatment from a nearby hospital.

Missed a Dose
There is a minuscule chance of missing a dose of Lora Injection 2 ml as it is used as a single dose and does not have a daily dosing schedule. Consult your doctor if you have any further concerns.

How Does It Work?
Lora Inj 2 ml contains lorazepam, which belongs to the benzodiazepine class of medicine. Lorazepam works by increasing the action of Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid (GABA), which is a chemical messenger in the brain that regulates aberrant and excessive nerve cell activity in the brain. GABA reduces the abnormal or excessive activity of nerve cells in the brain. It has antiepileptic and sedation properties.

If you are taking any antibiotics, antifungals, antihistamines, inform your doctor, as their dose may need to be adjusted.

- Avoid caffeine-containing foods like tea, coffee, chocolates while on Lora Injection 2 ml as caffeine stimulates the brain, whereas Lora Injection 2 ml relaxes it. Therefore, drinking too much coffee may affect the ability of this drug to calm the brain, and the condition may worsen. Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor about any supplements or herbal drinks you are currently taking.
