Lithic Sr 400mg Tablet
Lithic Sr 400 MG Description
Lithic SR is a prescription medication. The active component of this medication is Lithium. Lithium is a mood stabiliser primarily used to treat Mania and Bipolar Disorder. Mania is a mental health
disorder characterised by pervasive elevation of mood and activity. Mania can present with symptoms like excessive happiness or irritability, increased activity, excessive speech, decreased need for sleep, increased self-esteem and can even progress to delusions and hallucinations. Mania can have multiple causes and can also be a presentation of bipolar disorder. Bipolar disorder (BPAD) is characterised by periods of depression and mania interspersed by the absence of symptoms. While the exact mechanism of BPAD is still under study, research has shown abnormalities in areas of the brain associated with cognition and processing emotions. Multiple chemical messengers like dopamine, serotonin, and BDNF (brain-derived neurotrophic factors) are indicated in manic and depressive phases. Treatment with Lithium requires close monitoring and follow-up. The improper use of this medication can result in adverse health effects that can be serious.
