Medical Description

Levocet M tablet is used for the treatment of allergic rhinitis symptoms, including a runny or stuffy nose, airway blockage, sneezing, itching, watery eyes, and other allergic symptoms. This combination medicine contains montelukast and levocetirizine, which belong to the anti-allergic class of medicine. Levocet M tablet works by blocking the release of chemical substances responsible for producing allergic symptoms.

Take this medicine in the exact dose and duration recommended by your doctor. Do not take more than the prescribed dose. Your doctor may recommend taking Levocet M tablet at bedtime, as it may cause dizziness and sleepiness.

Common side effects of Levocet M include nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, dry mouth, headache, skin rash, flu-like symptoms, and fatigue. Most of these are temporary and usually resolve independently over time. Contact your doctor immediately if you are concerned about any of these side effects.

A few more tablets that also contain montelukast and levocetirizine are Montek Lc tablet, Montair Lc tablet, Montina L tablet, Telekast L tablet, and Levozet M tablet.

While taking this medicine, you may experience fatigue or dizziness (use caution when driving). Before using this medicine, inform the doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding and about your detailed medical history.

Contraindications of LEVOCET M STRIP OF 10 TABLETS

If you are allergic to this medicine or any of the ingredients of this medicine like Levocetirizine, Cetirizine or Montelukast.
If you have kidney problems or are undergoing dialysis.
If you are unable to digest lactose and glucose (galactose intolerance).

It is advised to avoid alcohol consumption during the treatment, as it might alter your alertness. Do not drink alcohol if you are taking any medicines for sleeplessness, as the side effects may worsen.

You are taking medicines for allergies (corticosteroids) like Prednisone and Prednisolone.
You are already taking painkillers like aspirin, as they can increase the risk of asthma.

Levocet M Tablet contains Levocetirizine and Montelukast. Any interaction which is seen with any of these two components when taken alone may occur with this combination too.
Medicines used to treat psychotic disorders may cause drowsiness if used concomitantly.
The use of Medicine used to treat fits such as Phenytoin together with this medicine can affect the effectiveness of this medicine.
Antiviral Medicine such as Ritonavir may interfere with the effect of this medicine when used concomitantly.
