Medical Description
Telekast-L tablet is an anti-allergic medicine. It is used for the management of symptoms of allergic rhinitis such as runny & stuffed nose, blockage in airways, sneezing, itching, watery eyes and other symptoms that occur due to allergies. Telekast-L tablet contains a combination of montelukast and levocetirizine as active substances. This medicine works by blocking the production of chemicals responsible for producing allergy symptoms. It also reduces the constriction and swelling of the airways and makes breathing easier.
Montek LC tablet, Montina L, Odimont Lc, Montair LC and Monticope tablets also combine montelukast and levocetirizine as active substances.
Take this medicine in the exact dose and duration as your doctor recommends. It can be taken with or without food. Do not take more than the prescribed dose. Your doctor may recommend you to preferably take Telekast-L tablet at bedtime, as it may cause dizziness and sleepiness.
Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to its components. It would be best if you were cautious while driving after taking Telekast-L tablet as it may cause dizziness and sleepiness. Before starting this medicine, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning on becoming pregnant or breastfeeding and about your complete medical history. Also, inform the doctor about all other medicines and supplements you take.

- If you are allergic to this medicine or any of the ingredients of this medicine like Levocetirizine, Cetirizine or Montelukast.
- If you have kidney problems or undergoing dialysis.
- If you are unable to digest lactose and glucose (galactose intolerance).

- You are taking medicines for allergies (corticosteroids) like prednisone and prednisolone.
- You are already taking painkillers like aspirin, as they can increase the risk of asthma.
- You experience a rash or breathing difficulty.
- You are suffering from a psychiatric illness.
- You are suffering from a genetic disorder called phenylketonuria.
- You are not able to empty the bladder.
Directions for Use
- Take Telekast-L tablet as directed by your doctor.
- Swallow it whole with a glass of water, do not cut, break or chew the medicine.
- It can be taken with or without food.
- It would be best if you took it at a fixed time for optimal results.
- You should not consume it more than that prescribed by your doctor.
Storage and disposal
- Store Telekast-L tablets below 30°C.
- Try to protect it from light and moisture.
- Keep it away from the reach of children and pets.
Quick Tips
- This medicine may cause dizziness or drowsiness in some individuals. Hence, if you experience any dizziness, then driving or operating heavy materials should be avoided.
- Telekast-L tablet is not meant for relief from acute asthma. Use your inhaler for asthma relief in an acute attack.
- This medicine can cause anxiety, aggression, lack of sleep and suicidal thoughts. In case you experience any of these, immediately inform your doctor.
- Before starting Telekast-L, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. Also, inform your doctor about all your other medications and your complete medical history.

- Especially if you are taking medicines for fits or epilepsy like phenytoin, medicines for anxiety and brain-related disorders such as phenobarbital, the medicine used for the treatment of high lipid levels such as gemfibrozil and medicines used to treat tuberculosis like rifampicin.
