Directions for Use

Wash your hands. Tilt your head back, pull down the lower eyelid, and instil the prescribed number of drops without touching the dropper to the eye or skin. Close the eye and press the inner corner gently for one to two minutes. Remove contact lenses before use and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting them. If using another eye medicine, ask how long to separate the products.

Storage and disposal

Store the bottle tightly closed at room temperature away from direct light and moisture. Keep it out of the reach of children and discard it as instructed after opening or at expiry.

Quick Tips

  • Do not touch the dropper tip to your eye, eyelid, or another surface.
  • Allow blurred vision to clear before driving.
  • Keep regular eye-pressure appointments even when vision feels normal.

Dosage

Overdose

Using too much may cause marked eye irritation, blurred vision, slow heartbeat, dizziness, or breathing difficulty. If you think you have taken too much of this medicine, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.

Missed a Dose

If you miss an application, use it when you remember unless it is nearly time for the next one. If it is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not take a double dose of medicine to compensate for the missed one.

How does this medicine work?

Betaxolol reduces the formation of aqueous fluid in the eye. This lowers pressure inside the eye and helps protect the optic nerve from further damage.

Some medicines can affect the way these eye drops work or slow the heartbeat. Tell your doctor about all medicines, supplements, and herbal products you use. In particular, if you are taking other glaucoma treatments, beta blockers, blood pressure or heart medicines, digoxin, or medicines for irregular heartbeats.
