Uses
- As per CDSCO And USFDA, Iborest tablets are used to treat:
- Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
- Peptic ulcer and acute enterocolitis as an adjunctive therapy
Contraindications
- Do not take Iborest tablets, or use caution:
- If you have an allergy to any of the components of the Iborest tablet, i.e. Chlordiazepoxide and Clidinium.
- If you are diagnosed with paralytic ileus (a condition in which the intestines do not have regular movements).
- If you have glaucoma (an eye condition).
- If you have a condition like enlarged prostate, urinary retention, or other obstructive urinary disorders.
- If you take anti-seizure medication or any antidepressant medication.
- If you are pregnant or planning to conceive.
- If you are breastfeeding.
- If you have severe liver or kidney disease.

- You have any allergic reactions after taking Iborest tablets.

- You take Ayurvedic medicines or other health supplements. Notify your doctor as some of them can interfere with Iborest tablets.
Directions for Use
- Take Iborest tablets exactly as prescribed by the doctor.
- It is advisable to take Iborest tablets before consuming food.
- It is recommended to take Iborest tablets on a regular schedule.
- Take the tablet as a whole orally with a glass of water. Do not break or chew the tablet.
- Do not abruptly stop taking Iborest tablets, as it can lead to withdrawal effects.
- Do not exceed the dosage of the Iborest tablet, even if you cannot feel its effects.
- Do not take Iborest tablets with other medications without informing your doctor

Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- Communicate with your doctor and tell them what prescription and non-prescription medications, herbal products, vitamins and supplements you take or plan to take. This is important as the Iborest tablet is known to interact with many medicines, making it less effective or increasing its side effects. Some examples include:
- Antidepressants or antipsychotics can interact with Iborest tablets and cause adverse effects.
- Opioid painkillers (morphine and codeine) and antihistamines may interact with Iborest tablets and cause increased drowsiness and slow breathing.
- Studies have shown that Iborest tablets can interact with antacids. They should not be used simultaneously.
- Interaction with atropine-like substances can worsen the side effects of Iborest tablets like urinary retention, glaucoma, constipation, dry mouth, etc.
Interactions with food items
- Avoid spicy or fried food, excess coffee intake, or caffeine products while on treatment with Iborest tablets.
